He left arguably the second best travel team circuit, EYBL being the best, for an independent. So his competitiveness is something I'd wonder about.

He'll get less exposure on his indie team, which could result in fewer scholarship offers (which is good for any school that has already offered).

@Russ Wood, what type of competition does the Super Showcase in Florida get? The 247 article indicates that is where he is playing next. His video is very interesting as is the interest he generated from playing the Adidas circuit.

Wow, I forgot all about that event. I don't even know the dates.

The Super Showcase used to be a great event. I freaking LOVED IT. I looked forward to the Super Showcase like a child looks forward to Christmas.

The top Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and Independents battled for the Gold championship while lower level teams competed for the Silver championship. Hundreds of college coaches would come. Plus it was a short drive for me. Last year the competition dropped off so much I didn't even bother to go. That was despite already being credentialed and living 17 minutes from the Walt Disney World Wide World Of Sports Complex parking lot.

However, Vegas became the hot new thing about a decade ago with adidas having their Super 64, there was an independent event called the Fab 49, then last year Nike added an event in Vegas called "The 8" (I don't know if they're doing that this year), and Under Armour moved its finals to Vegas.
