It still has some juice, but not as much. I would attribute that more to the league changes for both teams than the portal or NIL. You also need both teams on an upward trajectory at the same time like you had in 2019.

FPS, Screw shu, and piss off Princeton. If you didn’t notice we play all 3 of our historic adversaries in consecutive order in December. Beating all three very much matters to me! With the victory over psu it’s one down two to go.

I’m still pumped for tomorrow- don’t get me wrong! Let’s kick their ass. Just concerned that we see a game like we did two years ago.

Seton Hall needs a Herb Pope to renew the full hate passion of this rivalry !

I’m not a Holloway fan yet I think his antics and how he ll motivate his squad can cause added passion for the rivalry.

I think Hslloway will have them amped up. Game will be chippy. But I just don’t think The Hall any good. Big win for RU

I'm super terrified about this game. Rivalry game against our in-state power conference foes and it's Quad 4. Potential season wrecker

It’s hard to be passionate even about your own team nowadays.
Maybe this is sarcasm but it absolutely is not. Sounds like a you problem. I ride and die (mostly die lol) with Rutgers sports today more than I ever have.

I don't think the players care too much. Each year 80% of your roster is new now. They didn't grow up playing each other, they don't care IMO. We care as fans.
That’s the only reason they’ll care is feeding off the vibe from fans.

Rivalry waning big time
Meh way more turnover from both teams and seton hall stinks this year.

In years past where both teams are tournament teams and have juniors, seniors and super seniors who have long been on their respective teams, the rivalry is fantastic.

This is a one off year.

When I went here, SHU wasn't a rivalry. They were an after thought. The world is moving back into normalcy.

If both teams ever get consistent top 25, this will be one of the pre-eminent rivalies in all of college basketball
