Rutgers Standout Tackle Emerging As Strong Draft Prospect

I just hope he gets drafted somewhere. So afraid that Some of our deserving guys could go undrafted. So hard to get drafted.

You don't think the Giants would sign him in a nanosecond as an UFDA? With a signing bonus?

Better to go undrafted so you can find a more suitable situation where making the roster will be easier than go in the 7th round to a team just throwing out a flier pick
Except it doesn't work that way. Prospective UDFA's don't have the luxury of shopping around.

The draft ends. If you're lucky, the phone rings. You're given a offer and asked for an immediate (or close to immediate) acceptance. Otherwise, you're told they're moving on to the next player at your position on their list.

Fringe UDFA 7th rounders are going to get multiple calls and their agents will be on the phone feeling out teams. NFL teams need bodies to fill out their training camp rosters (90) and nothing is more coveted than a fringe 7th rounder.

This, and these calls are going on before the draft, during the draft, and after the draft.
