Rutgers vs #14 Washington: Complete opponent preview

HUH?

"Washington is without a doubt the trendiest “underdog” pick to make a College Football Playoff run in 2016"

...I've yet to see or hear anyone talk about Washington as a playoff contender. Have I been missing things lol?
Washington keeps coming up as a playoff dark horse and a few sites including Phil Steele have them picked to win the PAC and possibly make the playoffs. I don't buy it but its what the sports writers put out.

I buy that Washington dark horse playoff team thing.

makes sense.

I think the PAC12 is beginning to learn from the SEC HYPE machine. Everyone is a contender for the national championship therefore, since they largely only play eachother, every time someone wins it is reason to boost them in the rankings and every time they lose if it only because they play such a tough schedule and should not be penalized all that much.

I was doing stuff around the place but thought I heard them called such on BTN a little bit ago. I'm thinking Stanford has a good chance of winning the PAC12 although their early schedule is really rough with USC, UCLA, the two Washingtons. and ND in the first 6 games. Overall tougher too. It would appear the PAC12 champ could have 2-3 losses which won't likely make the playoffs.

WTH are you going on about? The PAC nor Washington writes articles saying who they think is going to be a playoff contender. That's on sites like Athlon Sports,, ESPN, etc.. and people like Phil Steele etc...

This has nothing to do with the PAC, and all to do with the media and people making the predictions and fyi no conference plays more regular season P5 opponents per team than the PAC. This will be the first year the B1G moves to a 9 game conference schedule, before this year the B1G played a pvssy schedule in regards to the amount of P5 teams in faced each year. The PAC has been playing a 9 game conference schedule for years now.
