Rutgers WILL Have An Open Practice For Fans !!!

This is bad news. I worked in athletic departments and have buddies who still do. There will absolutely be a staff member from Washington in attendance. Could lose that added advantage of mystery to the offense.

They won't show them much, will be very vanilla.

Another reason I don't like this open practice. Practice time should not be altered to suit the fans. Practice is too valuable to waste even one on a fan access...

You guys make me laugh .... Teams sending spies to a Rutgers Practices because they need an upper hand.

FWIW , the Washington Huskies are having an Open Practice the same as Rutgers..Aug 13th
So I guess Ash will be sending Coaches out to to Seatlle for a peak. LMAO

What's so funny? I'm telling you I worked in the industry and lived it. I have buddies who still do.

Funny in the sense that many fans seem paranoid about opposing Coaches "spying " on Rutgers.
Believe they have more to worry about than RU.

And again a member of the Husky staff is not flying 3000 miles to watch us running vanilla drills during our 5th practice .
Do you think Ash is sending a Coach 3000 miles to watch the Husky open practice on the same date ?

Do you think there will be ANY Washington fans who live locally who will attend Rutgers open practice?

Do you think any reporters might share stories with Washington papers that are read by UW staff.

I doubt practice is being altered for the fans, it will be vanilla because it is less than one week into camp.

This is football. Not the workings of the Manhattan Project. The positive vibe sent out in the community far outweighs anything some Washington flunky will get flying 3,000 miles to observe.

Assuming the outcome is the same regardless. But I don't agree with that premise.

This is one of those threads that shoudnt be that funny but has become a real chuckler... Calm down and enjoy the scrimmage

If any team wants to go to another teams open practice, all it takes is an iphone or Galaxy to record anything.

I was at an open practice last year, and tried to take a short video, and they spotted me all the way up in the top row.
True story..

Rutgers fans will get a chance to watch a scrimmage today at the F3 practice field across from the Visitor Center, with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. This will be the only open practice of training camp, and certainly most eyes will be trained on the quarterback competition. But there are other positions that deserve spectators’ attention.
Here are five things to watch when Rutgers takes the practice field today:

Allen and Gio looked good.

Oden looked like a true freshman

Gio nice pass and nice catch too

Some nice hits by the DBs

From Sargeant's report, it seems that Rettig may have had the worst day. They said Laviano threw a nice pass in a tight window. That pass by Gio was to Harris.

Did Grant play?

Did anyone meet any of the UW spies who were here. I'm sure they must have been in local bars and restaurants. What did they learn about Rutgers? Similarly, have the Rutgers spies returned from Seattle yet ?
