And not ranked. Can someone explain this to me? Do voters not like CVS? Absolutely ridiculous.

i thought this other day. they have two losses to two good teams (LSU and a ranked Indiana) too and have won road games, home games, double digits. they werent even receiving votes two weeks ago. it was baffling.

they will be ranked this week, they lost last week and thats why they were not ranked. They also did not play a very challenging schedule so the quality wins are not there.

14-2 overall and 4-1 in the big ten. Tied for first. Ranking not important and maybe even detrimental. Best to fly under the radar for as long as possible in my opinion

Yeah, this is not the "play anybody, anywhere" OOC schedule we grew accustomed to some years ago. I think CVS wants to finish rebuilding the roster before we see that again. As far as conference games go, I'm not sure how good the B1G is this year yet.

Its wide open. Maryland is down. Indiana is good but not dominant. Iowa is good again and Northwestern has improved dramatically. I still am frustrated by the women building big leads and blowing them. Still dont think we have seen their best yet

Outside of Arella, we're not sure what we're going to get from one game to the next. Her supporting cast needs to be more consistent, and the young blue chippers have yet to live up to their star ratings.

a lot of ladies teams have very good records (less then 4 losses). RU should be in this week. The B10 is not as strong as a few other conferences with no top 4 teams right now.

They're also 4-1 and tied for first in the B1G. Nebraska was also 13-2 going into yesterday's game and was not ranked.

The women were 27th in this week's AP poll, behind Northwestern. Michigan, who was 24th, will certainly drop out, creating one spot. The U of A might also drop out after losing to #3 Oregon State and #2 Oregon at home this weekend but that is not a sure thing due to the high rankings of those two opponents. The problem for RU this week may be that ASU defeated both of those teams, so they could jump way up in the voting.

I don't think anyone aside from Michigan near the bottom of the Top 25 lost this week. There is far less parity in women's bball than in men's and there has been less movement into and out of the polls each week. Add to that the fact that RU has played just one Top 25 team - IU - and lost that game at home.

But so long as they keep winning, they'll be able to crawl gradually up in the rankings.

I would say Arella, Tekia Mack, and KK Sanders have all been fairly consistent for RU throughout the year. What they need to avoid (and they've been better about this year after the Indiana game) is just giving the ball to Arella and watching her go one-on-one. There has been an obvious effort to get the ball into the center, Jordan Wallace, over the last few games that has been successful.

I still think there is huge potential from the bench: Zippy Broughton ended her freshmen season on a high note, but has seemingly leveled out this year (though she was dealing with lots of injuries, and seems to finally be getting into more of a groove). Our best 3-point shooter, Noga, is back from family obligations in Israel and demands defense's attention whenever she enters the game. Maori Davenport, the HS all American, is still super raw, and has been in the dog house recently, but CVS raves about her work ethic. And the true game changer could be Alexis Morris, the transfer who was electric at Baylor. she's had a slow transition onto the team since she became eligible 4 games ago, but you can see that if/when it "clicks" you get a full blown dynamic scorer and aggressive defender. If she gets going, that's an ultimate super sub.

Morris is the key for me. I am surprised by how much she has struggled to get going so far.

Well you saw on the men’s side how it took Jacob Young at least 10 games to really find his game and even though you have been practicing with the team it’s just not the same thing so hopefully every game she will improve and be that X factor and game changer that we need

The problem is there’s actually a lot of good teams in WBB so far. Since UConn started losing a couple the whole sport seems to have gotten better. It’s not like football where a 4 loss SEC team is ranked over an undefeated AAC, in this case we really are probably about 28th (where we rank in yesterday’s AP)

Still not sure why this team isn't getting a ranking.

they havent beaten a ranked team and the only one they played they lost to. Iowa beat Indiana so thats why they are ranked. RU's best win is Georgia Tech who is the same vicinity as RU right now. Seems like the womens game has a lot of teams with 2 or 3 losses that have played tougher schedules than RU

I know Noga Peleg-Pelc's reputation is as a 3-point shooter, but she really underwhelmed in the games she played this year. This year, in her 7 games, she shot 4-15 (26.7%) from 3-pt range, after shooting 38% last year. But maybe it's just a small sample size. We really need her to get back to the 38% shooter she was last year.
