Our women just advanced to the Final Four in soccer over Virginia in Virginia. The game was 0-0 after 2 overtimes. In the shootout we trailed 2-0 after the first 2 rounds. We than made 7 consecutive kicks to win 7-6. In the third round after we scored Murphy made a stop to make the score 2-1. Both teams scored in the 4th round of kicks so we still trailed 3-2. In the 5th round we scored to make the score 3-3 but Virginia kicked last. The Virginia girl hit the top of the post with her kick. In rounds 6, 7 & 8 both teams had a girl score to make it 6-6. In round 9 we scored and Murphy made a save by going right. It was an amazing finish. We next play North Carolina in the Final Four.

Art, the NCAA women's soccer College Cup (Final Four) will be held in Cary, NC, Dec. 4-6. Who we play has not been determined yet.
If we win in the semifinals, I hope Penn State or West Virginia does not get to the final. After all the gut-wrenching defeats those schools have handed us in our history, I don't want there to be a chance we lose the national title to one of those schools.
I misunderstood the Virginia announcer on their site. We advance to the Final Four in North Carolina. I believe we play the winner of Duke & Stanford. Florida State advanced to the Final Four today too. I think they will play the winner of West Virginia and Penn State.
We will be playing PSU in the national semis, the third game this season between the B1G's two best women's soccer programs. This will be the rubber match. Neither team has allowed a goal so far in the NCAA's and both seem to be on a roll. Should be a great match-up, though I would have preferred playing against WVU since we haven't already played them this season.
