Rutgers Women's Basketball vs. Wagner

I hope we see Shug Dickson today. She did not play last game and I did not see her on the bench. Anyone have any news on this?

Shug made two very nonchalant passes that kinda signal to me that she still may not be 100%

Came back with about 2.5 minutes in quarter RU up 12-10. Too many turnovers, 7 in quarter

40-26 at half. Rebounds 19-6 both teams 10 turnovers RU shot 60%, 3/10 from 3 - 2 by Mason

Such a relief to watch without all the crazy substitutions. Finally using his players the right way. They better keep it up against this well coached team that probably will not quit.

Yes they are 6/8 from 3
Mason hits another 3 for RU to get 1,000 ooints. Was also fouled on 3 point miss and went 2/3 from line. Has 11 points. Salina with 13
now 49-36

An impressive performance from our team today. Must give Tim credit for bringing it together with the rotation and the fairly efficient execution that was displayed today. They are looking for each other nicely and assisting on most scores. Wonderful thing to see.

I think he could have come to this tighter rotation after the first five games, but all of the struggles may have been necessary for them to get to this point in their improvement.

Tiya is looking a lot better and I think it is due to her desire to be better and truly lead. Also, I think the impressive game from Sakima which also saw Chyna play well, let Tiya know that she had to tighten her game up or lose major minutes going forward. Still room for improvement but fewer turnovers and mistakes. Her shot from the foul line looks better. Hopefully she can keep it up;

Sakima is getting more comfortable and looking better and better. Jailyn finally shooting it more like she did at Arkansas, with confidence. Looks like they are putting in the work. Now we just need Sayawni to get her 3pt shot going and Lasha to also be more consistent. If they can get it going at the same time, with Shug also hitting, how good can we be?!

All that said, we get thrown into the fire with Indy coming up. It's going to be the opposite of today as we will face a very skilled inside game to go with strength at every other position. Have to come ready to play even better than we did today.

I am glad they played unlike the men tonight. Great effort ladies shooting over 50% from the field and 40% from 3. Keep it up

Just wondering what happened to everyone today. Only three of us posting during the game. Four posters total from the start of the game to now. Curious to know what others thought of today's game and the forward step that the team and Tim seemed to take.

Didn't see it so only thing I could say was from when I went on computer to see the score and come here to see what was being said about the game.
But like any win, happy to have it and won't complain when the win is by 19.

I thought they looked good today! I now have some hope for the season. Very curious as to why Liz Martino is not playing. She looks quite unhappy.

I thought they looked good. Like the inside game and the assists. I have been on Mason to shoot and shoot with confidence. She finally got there. Still some lazy/WTF passes but overall something to build off of going into conference games. I see us surprising some teams as we continue to gel.

Yes, I've noticed that body language from Liz also for the last few games. What I'm starting to hear again and again, from a coaches perspective, regarding playing time on these deep rosters, is that they tell bench players, "make us(coaches) play you". I don't know who came up with that line, ...Tara Vandeveer or Geno. I know they both are using that to motivate players to stay engaged with what's going on.

Liz is going to have to get after it in practice and make Tim put her on the court more. And she has to produce when she gets there. I personally think she belongs and can be another playmaker. She and Victoria are competing for the same few leftover minutes. A really tough situation.

As was mentioned, Mason was 5-7 from 3, which was great. Rest of team 1-8 from 3 though. Hopefully Mason will continue to shoot well from 3, and the rest of the team will shoot better than 1-8 to give her some help.

Only 7 players got 10 or more minutes - highest after that was 4 minutes for multiple players. Liz a DNP

If Tim can get his team to duplicate today versus B1G teams then he may have something. That is a big IF at this time.

My seats are right across from the bench. Certainly don’t know whether it’s playing time or something else, but it’s as if Martino has checked out of this season and team already.
