Rutgers wrestling brought another Garden State native home, as they have added Kyle Kiss as their new Director of Recruiting.
Kiss, an Ocean Township, NJ native, placed four times in the NJ state tournament, and was a 2x runner-up in the prestigious Beast of the East tournament. Kiss went on to continue his competition career at the University of North Carolina, where he earned three conference medals and 70 career victories.
Kyle Kiss takes over for Harry Turner, who had done a tremendous job in this role. Turner was quietly the unsung hero of the Rutgers staff for the last several years. Kiss has big shoes to fill, but he has the pedigree to do so.
With his time spent competing in the division one level, along with coaching stints at UNC and Clarion, Kiss brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. However, any wrestling fan with a pulse will tell you that there’s no conference like the Big Ten. Can Kiss make that adjustment as he moves into what is the best wrestling conference in the country? That remains to be seen.
