Rutgers Wrestling Incoming Class Ranked #12

Why wasnt Glasgow included? Where would we rank with him?
Glasgow was a 2017 recruit who did a year at prep school because of grades. He won NHSCA Senior Nationals in 2017 at 152 and was named the Outstanding Wrestler. He was the #26 ranked hs wrestler in the country his senior year.

No idea where we would rank with Glasgow included, but I would guess around 7 or 8, or maybe a little higher.

EDIT: By way of comparison, this year, Flo has Janzer ranked as #65 recruit in the country, Lightner at #69 and Aguilar at #85. In 2017, Glasgow was #26.

#12 in wrestling is not like #12 in BB or FB.
How many good wrestling programs are there?
Probably 15 max.

What is concerning is the amount of B1G teams which are above RU and consistently bringing in top classes. This is a nice group coming in, and Glasgow isn't even part of the ranking.

Expectations should be high this upcoming year. We should be a top 10 team based on this.

As long as we can turned them into AAs, it will not matter the recruiting class rank.I like the crop of new kids that we can hopefully develop.

I’m not sure any of this incoming class will be starters for this upcoming season. Glasgow is part of last years class.
Yeah Glasgow is the only wrestler I see coming in that won't RS. If Suriano bulks up to 133, there is the possibility that Aguilar starts at 125, but Metzler I bet can hold the fort down fine if that happens.

I’m really hoping it’s metzler/Suriano to start the lineup.

The Cali kid needs to adjust to east coast life. Struggles on the mat coupled with first time exposure to our winters may get in his head. I really hope he gets a chance to adjust before we throw him in the lineup.

I respect your opinion but totally disagree. The best thing for Aguilar (assuming he is the best 125lb option) to mitigate homesickness, distance, weather, school would be to be in the starting lineup. The more accountability, discipline and integration into the fabric of the team the better. The results will come.

Start the best 125Ib is the best move... seems to be lot of hype around Aguilar.. just reminds me of Mackal for now... around same # recruit rank and out of state...

I watched both of them. Aguilar is the better wrestler/prospect. Plus, he has improved each year. Mackall (seems like a great kid) won states as a sophomore I think then lost to the kid he beat the following year. And, I think Mackall tore up his shoulder as well. The question with Aguilar is size not talent.

I certainly hope we can develop Glasgow into competing as an AA.When I see Lewis his BB teammate who just made the World Junior team.VTech has really developed him into a contender and he beat AA Marinelli. He has had a fantastic redshirt season and will be a force next season.

any word on who we are looking at for 2019 yet? usually visits should be happening by now
We already have a 2019 commit in Kanniard.

Also, looking at Schultz from Colorado at Heavy and Ryan Anderson of Bethlehem Catholic who just won a PA title at 138

Anderson and Schultz would be great additions. Lightener could be next the next heavy weight, but Schultz is on another level for sure

are they looking to bring in any other 197s if Lightner is at HWY? Need depth, just in case

Janzer may ultimately wrestle 197 after a year or two in a college strength and conditioning program. But, yes we need more depth in the upper weights for sure.

Hearing Janzer looking terrific. Also that Gravina had another shoulder surgery.

The #12 recruiting class for the #11 ranked team in the USA.

OK, but RUs highest ranked recruit is #65, is that correct??

12th ranked class, but we add Glasgow to the team, stud, Ashnault, 3x all american and a transfer in Firestone.

Boom!! We just picked up 7th ranked at 138 Jojo Aragona.. also the #25 p4p ranked jr in his class!

Talked to my boys in BB. According to them Lewis was always the better prospect. Just an animal. They said basically VT is getting a right out of the box brand spanking new AA. That if he doesn't AA multiple times VT done screwed the pooch. Now that's not taking anything away from Glasgow. They said he's definitely a multiple time AA caliber. Their only concern was his history of injuries.
