1. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Coach Goodale last night at the Region 7 finals. Being a former wrestler of his, not all of our conversations surround RU wrestling, but I did get to pick his brain a bit. Goodale said Glasgow and Gravina are recovering nicely, and he expects the team to make a good run this post season. He is obviously excited for Anthony Ashnault’s final, and highly possible run at a national title. I know a recruiting question is coming since Goody was checking out some high school wrestling, so I’ll get that out of the way now. Goodale had his eye on Vincent Santaniello, a 113-lb sophomore from Brick Memorial, and a 2018 state place winner.
2. Some of you already know this, but I am heavily involved in my town’s wrestling program, so next weekend I will be in Atlantic City for the NJ state tournament. However, I will be doing a Q&A on Wednesday (2/27) at 7:00 PM before I head down for the fesitivities, so get those questions ready! When I return, and once the seeds are out for the B1G’s, I will have a full preview and prediction of every weight class. So stay tuned for a lot of post season content in the next week, or so.
3. Non-Rutgers related, but there is a big match up today between Okie State and Iowa. The match will be live on Flo @ 3PM est. I have Okie State winning the dual, and Fix beating DeSanto, how about you all?
