Rutgers Wrestling vs Indiana / Updates and Results Thread

That was Nick Gravina's dad who got kicked out of the gym. Nice guy and tough as nails as is Nick.

gotta remind him he's not at the RAC anymore... at a place like that, you don't have 3,000 other fans yelling to drown u out!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nice win. I thought Patrick was redshirting but I guess not. Ottaviano with a strong performance. Let's go for the road trip sweep on Sunday.

“It was important. Winning the third period, doing it on top, turning people – that was the difference,” Goodale said. “He rode and then he gutted it out in overtime, where he felt it. When you win those tight matches in overtime like that, that means you’re in great shape, you’re in condition, you feel it, and there’s confidence there. Hopefully he carries that into Sunday.”

I thought the quote was probably related to Hrymack but had to read the article to be sure. Sounds like most of our guys wrestled well. Should have plenty of confidence going into Sunday.

Man, we got a strong team! And our kids are as tough as nails - all of them, win or lose - we wrestle until the end! And it appears that our kids are tight - celebrating together and genuinely having fun out there. Our coaching staff is doing a great job recruiting the right kids, and fostering the right environment for this to happen! And even though it got me nervous, I liked inserting Patrick and Ottaviano to our lineup - these things go a long way when recruiting kids.

Go RU!

Tango Two you were correct about the stall point at the end of the 3rd period in Hrymack match. He got the point for stalling not riding.

Just re watched the match, any word on Gravina's injury? Not sure if dislocated finger but if there was no blood not sure how he had so much injury time. Only gets 1:30 of non blood injury time. You can see Indiana coach bring over the rule book during the match.

Regardless he is one tuff kid can't wait for him to get to work with and mentor our upper weight recruits.

Great point! I could not believe they let him take all that time. Unless there was some reason for home not to get help. Why did they go to the other side of the gym for help?
