Rysheed Jordan Charged

This is what he Tweeted after being arrested. Almost sounds like he's proud.

Just terrible. I feel for the victim, and this kid Jordan. I know I am of the minority, but once you work in any inner city(especially education), you have a lot of different perspectives.

Darn shame.

Just awful--really says a lot about the priorities of big time hoops, but the coaching staff only has so much influence on a kid. They will do what they want, and potential premier athletes like premier entertainers feel entitled and invulnerable. Because everyon tells them they are.

Coaches need to make judgements about players beyond playing ability. Looks like St. John's staff blew it here. Bad behavior, bad decision-making, no interest in graduating, surrounded by knuckleheads. High risk talent.

How is this St. John's fault? They took a chance on the kid. He isn't the first kid to have no interest in graduating. Most of these kids, falsely, believe they are going to the NBA and aren't interested in graduating.

Plus Jordan left their program in June of last year.

The St. John's staff took a chance and they lost. Their need to get talent blinded them. The bad behavior, bad decision-making, and surrounded by knuckleheads was well-established and there before he landed at St. John's. It was on their watch -- they get credit. Thinking he was going to the NBA is a small part of this kid's shortcomings.

He was a top 40 player. Lots of schools were looking to take a chance on him.

It was on their watch? The article said he left St. John's in June 2015. He left the school almost a year before this crime happened.

@RU82 by "took a chance" I didn't mean he was a project/long shot to contribute type of recruit. I meant it in the sense that there was something odd about the kid's recruitment. There were reports of visits scheduled to some schools and he didn't show up or call to cancel etc.
