Sanders update from Carino

Now we need him to be a better all-around player. He has the tools, but he has to change his approach, and play more soundly on both sides of the ball. High risk for moderate rewards doesn't help.

Wouldn't expect Corey to start or play his usual number of minutes vs PSU. Need Nigel and Williams to step up big time at the Guard position.

Good news even if he misses the PSU game because it means he should be ready to play soon. The way he was helped off the court the other night I though he might be out for quite a while. I hope he can play this weekend but we need him healthy.

?????? Is Corey ok?

In the game thread on Tuesday the "doctors" on the board were saying that Corey broke his ankle, he was out for the year.......yada, yada.......BK basically came on and said it was a sprain and would be day to day. I guess at this point "day to day" is what it is.......could be a go on Sunday or it could be limited I guess. It's day to day...some days are better than others.

I got that, but was wondering if BK had an update.

Perhaps the ankle sprain will cause Sanders to alter his offensive game a little bit. I'd like to see him pull up for some medium range ( 10-15ft) jumpers rather than always drive to the hoop . I realize he's lost some confidence in his outside shot but this may force him to change. He won't regain confidence in his outside shot if he doesn't attempt any.....

I have confidence that coach P at least has plenty of time to make adjustments. [thumb2]

Luckily THIS year we have options...
last year(and last coach) if Sanders was out it would have been "game over"..

Corey's twitter response to the game was something like "We're going to play better." That and a total failure to even acknowledge the ankle led me to believe it wasn't serious. Seems like that's the case. Hope he's recovering well.
