Scheduling

In fairness, he does need to reestablish identity and that includes a dominant home court advantage. 11 non conf games, 3 in Vegas, 7 home games, maybe Princeton is at home as our highlight home game, and at SHU.
Dominant home court advantage? Not the last few years.

This year we played 3 crap teams for their super bowls:
SHU, Princeton neutral, at Kennessaw. It was ridiculously stupid. Next year we already have 1 landmine @ SHU. Cannot do any more. We always lose other team’s superbowls: @ UMass, @ Fordham, Stony Brook, @ Mounmouth .. Pike needs to stop scheduling these ridiculously stupid games.

Agree except for SHU. We aren't their Superbowl any more than they are ours. It's a game both teams want to win, but it's not the same as Princeton or @Kennesaw -- teams who rarely if ever play a P5 team on their home court or a neutral venue.

Yes, can should avoid any of those landmine games. Nothing to gain, lots to lose.
With Vegas Tournament, there is nothing to lose. Houston lost TWO games there (I was at both games) & they are still a #1 seed..
(Also Creighton looked terrible there, losing 2, and almost losing last place game to ND yet they are locked into the NCAA.. Oregon’s title there got them into the rankings, & enabled them to survive a bad league losing streak, without jeopardizing being projected into the field)

I still haven't heard a reason why 10-1 against OOC #300 is a worse resume than 7-4 OOC #50.

Suppose a routine 10-10 in conference.
We're out at 20-11 but in at 17-4?
That's what people are saying?

#300 OOC hasn't been the problem.
The problem has been going 7-4 against the #300 OOC.
You can't have a bad OOC and also lose.
Yes, and you have to beat those #300 teams by 20+. Can't pull those 2 point OT wins.

Who thought we couldn't beat Kennesaw at any location?
If we win games, then we need a strong OOC resume to get in the NCAAs.

Problem wasn't the schedule this year it was the team's execution.
Many of us said scheduling that Kennesaw game was extremely stupid at the time. No benefit whatsoever.

Don’t give away home conference games to MSG is a bigger problem than Princeton.
B1G needs to work this whole deal out with the committee.

These should be on the resume as neutral site games and then it wouldn’t matter.

Didn’t we split the gate with Michigan that one year and they had their band or something? But it was a “home” game

It should have been an easy road tune up game prior to Vegas trip. Get the new team acclimated to a road environment prior to high time showdown.

It had no benefit for hometown fans, but our freshman 5* players family probably appreciated the gesture.

The only real problem was losing the game by playing like dog sh!t.

Getting in late was recipe for disaster and added too much for Vegas.

I wouldn’t call a game against RU a Super Bowl.

The superbowl was every kid on every team who played us knew there were dozens of NBA scouts on attendance.

Probably there only chance to showcase their talent all year

About 30 days or so we will know
Bac and Greene

C’Mon already ….you guys KNOW how much trouble we weee in this year when we looked at the roster ….and our upper class base was not recruited as frosh

That’s where I went wrong this year . I went with the hope thar what we got in the portal bad enogh talent to make up for that …and when it was clear that it didn’t …thars when I started to beat the drums on how this season was lost throigh the lack of recruting ….

Derkack and acuff were ranked 4 star transfer
Martini and hayes 3 star tramsfer

They provided as a group neither leadership or the basketball skill to help the frosh grow up …as a group …a disaster .

So…while your “30 days” is true…the portal season is important to us the real question comes ..that pike must check to reestablish this program foundation

-do we retain the three frosh and add the class of 2025 …to restablish a foundation that needs to also return for 2026-2027
-do we add 2 multi year guards thsr are starting quality and double digit scorers …to give sone pressure relief for a soph and frosh dominated team to develop ???
-a four man class of 2026 that had three top 125-150 kids ….a point guard , a swing man , a center and a combo forward

If pike can’t accomplish this ….then RELAX….take a deep breath , because next year will be it for Pike and we will get another coach because the next AD will not let this be 4 years with out A NCAA that will turn into 6 years ….

This is what has to Happen for this orogram to get back on track

Pike talks about program culture , identity , foundation . It crumbled under his watch ….and it’s up to him to get it back …..fast
