I'm not sure if we now have 2 or 3 scholarships available for next year, but it feels like it's getting a bit late with school over in less than 10 days. Any thoughts on when these might be filled and confirmation of how many we have?

We have 2 left for the coming season. It is not too late especially for transfers. Last year we didn't get C J Gettys until August. We also landed Candido Sa and Eugene Omoruyi in the summer. Issa Thiam wasn't added until very late last year as well. Many posters I think are getting too worried. I know our coaches are on top of the situation and I am confident they will add two new players before the start of school in September. It could happen within days or it could take until August but I am certain the coaches will make good decisions.

Scarlet Shack - you have Bullock listed as a RFr. . I seem to recall that he played in a few of the early season games. He can't be a RFr.

Was he injured?

Walker is quite fast but is very small like Myles Mack. He is very good but I don't think he is as good as Myles was. Myles made first team All State and was in the Top 50 players in the country. The Patrick School has had 7 players counting Walker to get D-1 scholarships. I don't see how they even lost a game with so much talent. They also have the junior, Manuel who is being recruited by many D-1 schools.

SHU is expected to get a commitment from St Pats point guard Jordan Walker today.

Was RU a finalist?

I do not believe so. Walker was looked at by a lot of teams. He is a smaller guard I know. He seems to have the personality to compete at this level, though, and will be a good get for SHU, who could use a ball handler.

Give that team to Linden and you have the best team in the country.

I could see the comparison. To me, he almost stands out more than Mack. Mack was a great Knight, and it was cool to run into him on campus a couple times. Very nice kid.

So it would appear that we have two scholarships available for the coming season and would only have 10 scholarship players available without filling them. Are we expecting the staff to fill both or hold one over?

It would seem EXTREMELY likely RU would add at least ONE Graduate Transfer, plus maybe 1 other graduate transfer or JUCO ... in other words 2 players who could contribute immediately, in this coming season.

Personally, I think RU could use 2 graduate transfers: A post player and a shooter. Then use the scholarships for the class of 2018.

If Jackson transfers to Ru that would leave us with only one spot unless bullock left. I would take Jackson and hope to add one grad transfer. The main rebuild starts with 2018. I'm not throwing away 2017 but we are definitely shy a few players to really make a dent. Baker will help but we need another Gettys type player

Or unless Williams left or Thiam left or Freeman left or Doorson left or if anyone left. Please stop with the Bullock talk. He just red-shirted last year . Why do people keep saying this without any indication that he is leaving or that Pikiell does not want him.

I cannot stress how important a center is right now. A center who can play 15 quality minutes per game is probably worth 3-4 wins. I don't care if he's a freshman, JUCO, or grad transfer. As long as he can play.

Center or forward. Either or.

Plenty of teams do not play with traditional centers. They are in need of a 6 8- 7 0 rebounder. Continuing the tune, this will be a better year for Sa. I could see him become a 5 and 4-5 player. They need him to. He has the physical makeup.

Peter Kiss officially signed on to Rutgers today.

Great News....I like this guy. Crafty and I think with the year of practicing he will develop into a much better 3 point shooter. Dead-eye shooter !!!

I always like to hear the coaches' comments...can't wait to get his view of Peter Kiss.

RU Choppin I think is correct. I don't think Bullock is going anywhere. He red shirted this past season. I have seen him working hard at the RAC twice in the last 2 weeks. He also was with the team at the BARN when it was named after Jim Valvano on Saturday. Many who post here keep saying he isn't D-1 when he really never had a chance. I hope he stays and proves all his doubters wrong.

Matt needs to lose some weight. The staff does like what he COULD offer, but conditioning is the main obstacle

Bullock could be at HPSS

He seems to love workouts, but not the running part. Its a shame hes been here for this long and has not got to the point the staff seemingly wants him at. Shaq did it.

A lot of his game game from wanting to rebound. At 260, he could do that. I don't know if his strength was really his guard skills, and lighting quick athleticism. He seemed like a kid that did the dirty work. At 6 4, his best playing weight would be around 215-218. Well see what happens. I just want the kid to ball.

The only thing is that there are too many B1G teams that play tall centers, and with Freeman who is also a small PF we will be undersized in the front court in too many games. We need a 6'10" guy or taller, or at least a guy who can play taller.

Exactly. So they dont have to be 6 10. You can play 2-3 inches taller if you are the right player with the motor. Look at Freeman.

For a JUCO, Freeman had a great year. 11 and 7. Someone who wants a rebound will not be limited by three inches in height.
