Season Tickets

That looks like a mock-up/template that they were originally sent. Would be surprised if the tickets themselves weren't updated with the times currently available.

Not impressed with them this year. And what's with all the TBAs when most of the games times have been announced for a long time?

Man, we'll critique anything here, won't we.

How was the apple sauce in the cafeteria at the home today? Was it too lumpy?

Nothing here. Looks like another year of jockeying with UPS and/or friends neighbors since we will not be home to get the tickets. Real smart shipping them the last 2 weeks of August when many people are on summer vacation prior to Labor Day.

"Well, why don't you cry about it."

This thread complaining about the late delivery of season tickets has become an annual ritual on this board.

In a certain way I find it amusing to read about the high anxiety among those folks who will be on vacation in late August and fear that they will not receive their tickets before the first home game.

Hope that doesn't make me a bad person, ha !

Sorry, but many people are on vacation on any given week in the summer. The Jersey Shore, and the place I vacation at (Hilon Head) is packed every week in the summer; not everyone waits until the last two weeks. In fact, I just read that the most popular vacation month is July, the most popular week is the second week of July and all of the top 10 vacation days are in May, June and July. You can't make everyone happy.

Complained to the ticket rep. Last 2 weeks of August is a very common vacation time for lots of families.

Why do you find it amusing? There are limited options on UPS My Choice unless you are a premium member. It should not be this complicated. What is so difficult about sending tickets at the end of July or beginning of August.

That's not the point. By waiting until the end of August, those that go on a 2 week vacation don't have the option of having their tickets held by UPS at the UPS location---they ship the tickets back to the shipper. Your only other option is to route the package somewhere else. Many folks don't have that option, and that options costs extra $$$. And both of my neighbors that I could ask also happen to be on vacation the same week, so we must be outside the norm of the "most people" you read about.

OK so the first home game is Sept 10. That doesn't allow enough time to get your tickets after your 2 week late August vacation ?

Read my last 2 posts. UPS does not hold tickets for longer than 7 days. The drop down option to reroute my tickets to another address gives a warning that certain packages such as high value packages will not be rerouted. So I am not using that option because I don't want to be left guessing if my package will be rerouted or not. So if my tickets are sent back to the shipper (who I don't have contact information for), what are the options for having my tickets re-shipped? I guess call my ticket rep. But if I return on September 1 and have to sort this out, does not leave much time. On the other hand, if they worked further ahead 3-4 weeks earlier, there would not be these issues up close to the first home game. That is the point. It's not about inconveniencing SOME people's vacations. It is working 2 weeks before the first home game, which is invariably going to screw things up for some people. Hope you are still amused.

They are shipping them 21 days before the 1st game. In the end, if 19 full days go by and you don't have them, your ticket rep will help.

You guys don't have neighbors or friends who can pick them up from your mailbox/porch for you?

As fatsam sorta said above, you should probably be more friendly with more people than just 2 neighbors.
UPS will send you an email when the package is set to arrive and when it arrives (if you sign up for that through UPS I think). You should then have SOMEONE you can ask to pick up and hold that package.
Lastly, unless you have club seats, the tickets will be arriving today or tomorrow or Friday.

I think the tickets look great, the booklet looks great and I'm thrilled they got them out exactly when they did!!! Great job Rutgers!!!...and I bet the apple sauce was perfect.

Oh really? Thanks for telling me how to live my life. My neighbors next door, I am friendly with. They are on vacation. My neighbors on the other side, I don't know so well and they are rarely home. We live on 1-3 acre lots. The guy across the street is a douchebag. I have another friend who lives in town, and he said he will be traveling this week for work. I'm glad you have it all figured out for me.

I should have been less direct in my comments as right, I don't know your specific situation. I could have simply said something like, yes, you're out of the norm if you can't find someone to help you out while you're on vacation.

What town do you live in? Maybe someone else on this board lives in the same town and the tickets can be sent to them and you can pick them up when you get home.

Ask Local Shill, he knows all about me, and he does not like where I live. [roll]
Not really comfortable entrusting a stranger to pick up my tickets. I probably only "know" two people on this board. Kind of like the guy across the street--I know who he is, but not well enough to ask him for a favor or to trust him to get this done.

I put a UPS vacation hold in place. If they are scheduled to arrive Friday, I should be fine. But that's one other thing. A month or so ago, we were asked to confirm our address on Scarlet Knights.com. Don't you think they could have said then that your tickets will be mailed the Week of August 17, giving us enough time to make arrangements? I'm not bitching for the sake of bitching. They could make the process a lot easier on us by (1) mailing them out no less than a full month before the first game; or (2) giving us more than a short warning.

Interesting to see this thread. The annual "Did you get your tickets yet?" thread has also begun on the Northwestern site. NU has always sent its tickets out about mid-August, and I suspect that is the case at most other schools.

Three things:
1) You're in a unique situation that most in the year 2016 are not in...
2) Putting together the season ticket booklets and getting them ready to be mailed is a LONG process. So for the athletic department, way ahead of time, to notify you exactly when you'll be receiving your tickets is unrealistic.
3) There is a purpose to not delivering the tickets much earlier: Fans are still buying season tickets. If they sent the tickets out in mid-July, they'd need to send another batch out in August to accommodate the 2,000 fans that bought during that time.

That can't be true. According to Knight Shift, Rutgers is "waiting" to ship them in the middle of August in order to cause him the most personal inconvenience possible.

Never said that. You have poor reading comprehension. I know a little about scheduling and planning, and it is not that hard to work in advance. As for the late season ticket buyers, they done in a second batch. But I'm glad I provided you some amusement. Enjoy the rest of your summer, pal.

It sounds like you desperately need that 2 week vacation. Hope you can relax and not obsess and stress out over delivery of your tickets to the Howard game on 9/10. In my experience I've learned that needless worrying is not good for the body or the soul.

Hope it all works out for you. Give us updates on your ticket status so that the rest of us don't worry about you as well.

Received my PSU tickets and parking July 27.

I guess the only thing I don't understand is why they use UPS with signature required? Our tickets are sent USPS and even with moving twice in the last year my tickets found my new mailbox.

You sound like a jackass. I strive to be a good citizen of Scarlet Nation and provide helpful suggestions in my posts. Others not so much.
I'll live my life, which is truly wonderful and stress free, and you live yours, which sounds like it is full of ballbusting and vitriol. Peace and love and a big smile. I'm done here.

Nothing says a person is "wonderful and stress free" more than a thread filled with said person whining and name-calling.

I understand your angst if the tickets are delivered when you are on vacation. And I agree that it would be nice for Rutgers to give more than a day or two warning of when the tickets will be mailed, so that people can make appropriate arrangements if they're on vacation.

However I disagree with you that mid-late August delivery is more problematic than July or early-August delivery. More people take vacations during July than August and more people take vacations during early-August than late-August. Whenever Rutgers plans to deliver the tickets, they'll encounter people who are on vacation. (And as I agreed, it would be nice for Rutgers to at least let you know the delivery time window in advance, so those on vacation can make appropriate arrangements.)

I also disagree that 3 weeks prior to the first game is not enough time. While 4 or 5 weeks would be better, offering ticket holders more flexibility, 3 weeks is still sufficient time. It is when you get to 2 weeks prior to the first game that you are imposing a burden on a significant number of fans.

Though I didn't see any mention of you calling your relationship manager at Rutgers, I'm sure that was the first thing you did right?

Since this seems to be a recurring problem, why not take your vacation a little earlier next year so we don't have to read the same thread in 2017?

You have a reading comprehension problem too. See above where I said I complained to my rep?

You live your life, I'll live mine. Kids had sports camps and classes all summer that just ended last week, similar to every other summer. It's also very quiet at work this time of year--the two weeks before Labor Day because many folks in the office and clients are taking vacations before the kids go back to school. Not going to rearrange my life/schedule around when Rutgers tickets arrive. I addressed the problem. Why don't you put me on ignore if you don't want to read my posts?
