any recommendations for Seattle hotels. Want to be able to easily get to Pikes Place and restaurants. Thanks!

If you can get the Inn at the Market I recommend it highly. Great property and location. Not cheap. Stayed there last time we went out. Noting like breakfast at the stalls and eateries each morning.

I work at Amazons corporate office a lot which is 10 minutes from UW, I stay at Hilton downtown, Motif if you have extra money... Walking distance to both Pikes and Space Needle

I stayed at the Hotel Monaco last year for work, also expensive. It was about a 5 minute walk to Pikes Market.

If you need to go the cheaper route, when we played Wazzu the other year stayed at Hotel Five. My wife and I loved it. It is an older Travelodge type of place they bought and spruced up to make trendy. Great location, was able to walk to everything (Pike, Space Needle even to the game which was a hike). Also stayed at its sister property in Portland (OR) and enjoyed that too.

Hotel 1000 is where I'm staying. But it's a bit pricey (that sounds pretentious but hey I'm splurging)

Marriott on the waterfront is a good choice too

Both downtown Hyatts are solid. The Sheraton is well located just a few blocks from Pike Place on Pike Street. Never call it "Pikes" Place Market.
Homewood Suites can be a bargain and just a little farther out than Sheraton on Pike. Still can walk downtown.

I have stayed at The Inn At The Market as well and I would also highly recommend it. Had a corner room that looked out down Post Alley on one side and down on the market on the other. Spectacular. But pricey. Hard to get much closer to the market, though. And don't worry about eating in the market. The food is quite good.

I'll be slumming it at The Westin while my well to do friends are staying at The Inn at the Market. Looking forward to seeing my Scarlet brethren take over Seattle.

Staying there again this time. For the Wazzu game weekend we could only get rooms with a street view. This time we managed to get rooms with a view of the public market and waterfront. And yes, it was nice to grab a breakfast each morning at the market.

I always stay at the Ace Hotel. It's a hipster hotel with not a ton of amenities but the price is good and it's a cool spot.

Had some friends visit recently who wanted to stay in Seattle a couple nights (we live on the Eastside) and they stayed at the Edgewater Hotel. They said it was really nice with balcony overlooking the Sound and walkable to downtown/Pike Place Market.

The Mediterranean Inn is a great alternative to the pricey downtown hotels. Located in the lower Queen Anne neighborhood, it is just a few blocks from Seattle Center, the Space Needle, and the monorail that connects to downtown. I've been recommending the University Inn, located in the U District, for easier access to the stadium and campus. That said, everything out of downtown will save you a ton of money.

I have spent time at Hotel Monaco and Hotel 1000 and liked both.

For hotel Monaco 2 aspects I liked were that they had a selection of a few bikes that you could reserve/check-out for the day for free. They also had free alcoholic drink tastings in the early evening.

Most of my coworkers who travel to our seattle office stay at the Four Seasons which is really nice, but might not be the most affordable.

The Monaco also has animal print robes.

Also consider B&Bs or AirBnB for reasonably priced weekend options. Some locations are near bus stops and light rail stops. We looked into that a couple of years ago for two couples. Decided against it due to desire to be close to the waterfront and in walking distance to all activities.

This.
Staying over in Kirkland ......Rates looked good for a Labor Day weekend.

Remember that the light rail now connects downtown to Husky Stadium. Makes staying downtown convenient for the game now.
Thanks for point that out. The extension to U of W was not in operation a couple of years back. Looks like a 7 minute ride from the Westlake station over to the football stadium. That's convenient!

I stayed at the Hotel Deca last year, a few blocks away from the campus and a couple blocks from University Ave. That hotel is so-so,small rooms built in the 1930's with no in-room coffee makers! They gave me vouchers for free coffee at the coffee shop next to the lobby only for the coffee shop to close for renovations for two weeks (It was Tully's and became something else). On the upside, the restaurant in its basement was pretty good.

The section of off-campus that the Deca is in (NE45th St and north) is not that great. Washington State Police officer I saw standing on the corner of NE 45th and University on a late afternoon summer Monday should tell you all you need to know. Lots of young homeless in that area. That part of University Ave was reminiscent of 1970's George Street with 2010s chain eateries. There is a Safeway that is a short walk of the Deca that had a nice gauntlet of homeless out front.

A few years back I stayed at the Homewood Suites in the back of Downtown near I-5 that particular hotel chain is pretty reliable.

Homewood is a good deal right now. A little over a mile to Pike and close to Needle.

Stayed at the Westin multiple times on business and for a weekend trip to catch the Mets play the Mariners. For the baseball weekend trip, the Mets were staying at the Westin. Enjoyed the hotel. Nice property and centrally located
