Hate to put the cart before the horse, but as the possibility of making The Dance get more realistic, do you think Rutgers will have something organized for one of those venues?

They used to have a Selection Sunday party for the women's team when I was in school. I specifically remember it being at the RAC in 1998-99 because several of us hung around afterwards to watch the men's show on the TV they set up. Another year it was in the Hale Center, IIRC. I think the only way this happens is if the team gets to 22+ wins and is guaranteed to make the field.
I think 20-11, 11-9 guarantees RU a berth, regardless of what happens in B1G tourney.
If the net ranking is still top 25, I agree. If something weird happens and we slip to the mid 30s with that record, I will be nervous for sure. Won't feel 100% sure unless we get to 21-10 / 12-8, or just win the automatic bid so they can't take it away.
Let's hope that won't be possible because the team will be playing at 3:30 on Selection Sunday in Indianapolis
Agree. Real question will be whether we get in at 19-12/10-10 - think it depends on who the wins and losses are against the rest of the way. Also the B1G tourney could make the difference: going 1-1 in the B1G tourney I think gets us in at 20-13/11-11, whereas a loss might make it tough to get in.
If it happens, it likely wont be at the RAC.

You really think RU wouldn't use this as an opportunity to show off the practice facility? Anywhere other than the facility would be a mistake.
Are they going to able to fit a few thousand in there...its been 29 years. We all have been waiting . The long suffering fans deserve to be apart of this
Will most likely be in the new practice facility & limited to invited guests
(donors) & the riot squad, since it is not large enough to have an open house event.
I have a hard time believing first time in ncaa in 29 years would not be a public event

After waiting 30 years and praising the public time and again for selling out the RAC, closing it out to the public,just like Mid Knight Madness would be again pissing on the people that support the program. Everything isn't about the donors, you still need to energize the state and ticket buying public. I hope your wrong.
100%, agree. Just like closing out Midknight Madness from the public,stupid is as stupid does. There was no reason that event couldn't have been at the RAC like it was other years!!!! We also went to The Barn for MID KNIGHT Madness in the past when my sons went there.
If done in semi-private circumstances there is only one us who IMO really deserves to be there.
And we all know who that is.
Ir also depends on how other B1G teams perform .There could be five or more teams with similar records.i
Not season ticket holder for basketball but go to 7 or 8 games. Has to be open to public, been watching since 1975.

Offer tours for the RWJ Barnabas Center throughout the day before the Selection Show. Make sure the Rutgers store is open and people know it is open. Sell food at the Nutrition center to the general public. Then open The RAC for the actual viewing .
2014: SMU was in the top 25 and not granted a bid (#25/#23 in the two polls). Strength of schedule was only 114. That will not be true for us.

We all feel RU is starting to get their act together, but this feels like too much of a no-brainer for our admin to actually get right.
Would love for them to try and make an event of it.
I know it's a long time to make the tourney but fans are not usually at these things are they?
