why can Seton hall out recruit RU. Facilities? Coaching? Someone explain. 50 years until now.

because Seton Hall invests and cares about basketball while RU has continually pissed on basketball here and funnelled profits to football. RU's rep among high schools and AAU coaches is terrible because we are perceived as doing everything for football while crapping on basketball. Our facilities would be among the worst in the MAAC or Colonial conferences

Read Zags article about AAU coaches. Compare how they speak of the SHU staff vs, Rutgers. We made our bad situation horrible with the previous regime. Anybody who thought Jordan was doing a good job, not sure what to say. And if you think AAU is dirty (it is) and we shouldn't deal with them, then we should drop the sport.

SHU has spent more than $10mm on facilities upgrade related to hoops in the past 5 years. It raised coaches salaries and charters everywhere it makes sense. Our turnaround has not been fast but we have a big time recruit coming in next year and a verbal for 2017 so we are beginning to reap the rewards of a comprehensive plan. Pat Hobbs will get it done at RU.

" Your " correct.

When you have nothing to sell on or off the court ,the end result is mediocre recruiting and horrendous won/loss records.Twenty five years of futility proves the point and once again a new hiring search begins with major impediments to overcome in facilities and recruiting.

Does Seton Hall practice at the Prudential Center in Newark ? Or on campus? If on campus, what is their campus facility like ? Where does their Ladie's BB team practice and play games ?

There was 1 game this year where I thought we needed AC and that may have been one of the only times
in my 35+ years as a season ticket holder.
I don't care about the fans. We have offices in the RAC. We have a court players use in the summer. Just because WE aren't there when it's hot doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's embarrassing

Give it a month
It was approved 2 years ago so frankly I'm scared of how little Julie got off her ass and got things done. She was a complete embarrassment of an Athletic Director.

SHU revived its recruiting with big recruits-for-coaches deals. RU MBB meltdown certainly made it easier for Willard too--Rice was running circles around him on the recruiting trail until the implosion.

The recruiting packages started w/FHJr bringing in Sina, but the 2014 class was the big bonanza with Delgado-Antigua and Whitehead-Tiny packages. IIRC Carrington and Whitehead were buddies so SHU landed one heckuva a 2fer-1 with Tiny. Kudos for doing what it takes to play the recruiting game with the big boys. My second favorite team will always be whoever is playing SHU though.

They are playing well and this edition is the direct result of Willard deciding to go all in with tiny Morton. Seemed like a desperate move but it has paid off after a rocky start.

Not sure the Tiny idea was Willard's but be did make it happen. Don't underestimate Shaheen's influence on recruiting and working with Whitehead.

Do u really think seton hall practices at the prudential center? Just a very odd thought.

I have no idea. The Nets are no longer there. The Devils have their own practice facility next door. The building is empty a lot, and it's mere 2 or 3 miles down S Orange Ave. People here are saying SHU has better facilities, so did they build a new practice facility on campus? I don't f'n know which is why i asked the question.
Again, where the F do they practice? A new state of the art facility , the old Walsh Gym or OTHER? Same questions for their girls team.

Yes, on AAU coach went on about how much Willard and his staff are constantly in touch with him and his players. Hardly knew the RU staff.
