Walker is very good but we must remember he had Richards who is about 7' and a Kentucky recruit to lob passes to. The Patrick School had 7 players sign D-1 scholarships and Manuel a 6'10" junior already has several D-1 offers. How many teams had that much talent. Linden beat The Patrick School one time in 3 attempts with zero players going D-1. Tavon Jones probably will be one but he was only a junior. The Patrick School had 6'11", 6'10" and 6'8" usually on the back line with Walker as PG and Harris who is going to Minnesota as SG. They just re-load every year.
Who is comparing Walker to Baker? When a team has the height like the Patrick School had there will be many open looks as well as easy breakaways after dominating the boards. Walker is good as I stated but he only made Third Team All State. Tavon Jones of Linden made First Team as a junior with no other D-1 kids on his team.
Well, SHU got the players they needed to get in this class. This is a far cry from the earlier days of Kevin Willard. It should help them maintain their present status even after their senior class graduates this year.
With that said, like us, they also need to have a solid class next year as well. Right now, we got the leg up there with Doucoure & having a guy whom at worst could give us 10-15 minutes a game in Kiss.
I do believe that with the addition of Walker, it's probably another feather in their cap in their pursuit of Manuel.
