Shaq Carter’s HUGE day

Wait . . . I thought he was no good because he doesn’t start on his JUCO team?!

Can we please drop this talking point that he's on the bench so the coach can showcase other guys? How come none of the other guys on that team that are committed (like Ali to Kent State) are coming off the bench?

Maybe because Ali is a guard and not a forward....??

The other PF is a former Evansville commit that is headed to Northern Kentucky as a 2018 kid...plays about the same amount of minutes per night (20-25)....has good shooting range and also 6'9"...reclass from 2018 back to 2017....very nice player....

Carter is coming to RU folks, sorry to break the news to some....

Quiz later on where their 8 sophs are going to likely land....

I'm not saying he's not good I'm just tired of seeing one person's random speculation repeated as fact. It's not really a common thing at the JUCO ranks to do so I have no idea how it gained such a foothold here.

What's random speculation??

If anything that's random, it's an assumption that there isn't a deep roster at a JUCO level...which isn't common.

What's also random is stating that a player has to play 30-35 minutes a game at JUCO to be successful at his next stop....there are LOTS of programs at Power 5 levels that play 9-10 players and rarely do you see PFs playing tons of minutes.

What about his minutes last year at this time when the roster was not as deep as this year's team?? What are his projected minutes at a B1G level?? I would guess it would be the 22-28 minutes a night here...right where Freeman is today.

We also are basing impact based on strictly PPG...there are lots of ways to impact the game beyond scoring....actually if Sanders returns, I'd probably have Carter pegged as the team's 4th or 5th leading scorer...my guess would be shots go elsewhere to the 4 guards (Sanders, Baker, Mathis, Kiss and Thiam)....then Eugene, Carter playing 24-26 minutes a game with hopefully another 2018 addition...:sunglasses::sunglasses:
