Ive never ever seen a more dysfunctional offense in major college football than Rutgers this year.

In fact, its hard to think of a more dysfunctional offense at any level...... I think there was a team we played my freshman year of HS that was close to as bad, but im not sure who it was..... newark westside maybe

Shea was a much better coach than Ash. Ash's lack of head coaching experience is really showing tonight. Shea couldn't recruit in the East he was from the west coast.

Oh I'm not just blaming the QB.....it's the O Line as well. You need some pieces to run an O. Again, if our fans actually watched other teams they would know this.

*sigh*. Our OL would get overpowered by a lot of high school programs. Sad.

It's becoming clear to me that almost nobody on this board understands how college football works. Did you really expect a team with Kyle Flood talent to be coached up and like magic, make a bowl game? There's a coach in the B1G that coached a team to the Super bowl and his college team is 3-8. This ain't the pros. Roster turnover takes years and that's what Ash and co. need. We've got a winner. Everybody needs to relax and give them time.

No, we didnt expect a bowl game, but I'd say getting shut out 4 times by a score of 220 somethin to zero and averaging less than 10 points in conference play is unacceptable AND preventable, even with a mid major roster

Then you've overestimated the level of talent and depth on this roster. I'm shocked we even competed in half of these games.

Unfortunately, our fanbase just isn't very sophisticated. It is amazing how little talent we have. We are a low level AAC team competing against the big dogs. That's our talent level. At best.

And another thing a lot of people are going to have trouble accepting is that Ash is going to be given his fair shot, and one season with some other coach's talent, or decided lack thereof, is not in any way going to be seen as a legitimate gauge of what CA can, or cannot, do by the Rutgers athletic administration. Also, like it or not, bitch about it or not, Ash isn't going anywhere right now, so vent if you need to, but that's the reality of the situation.

Now is anyone thrilled with how things have gone? Not at all. Everybody is frustrated and that's understandable. But Ash is a head coach not a magician, and even if he was the second coming of Houdini, he'd have his hands full with what he was left to work with. (Not that our kids don't give their all; they do...and then some.) But you've got to have the horses to really be a contender in a race, and the plain truth is we simply don't have those in a large enough quantity presently, and the only way to correct that is to bring in players who are B1G caliber across the board. -And unfortunately, it takes time to correct an unfortunate situation that a previous staff took time to create.

As a sixers fan, this situation sort of reminds me of their coach Brett brown. Not that rutgers is intentionally tanking it, but like brown it seems that ash really can't fairly be judged with this team. Problem is that it's been over 3 seasons, and no one has any idea if Brett brown can coach. Will the same happen with Ash?

One thing that there is no doubt about is that we stink. Makes no difference who you want to blame.
Ash's biggest job right now is to keep the recruiting class together. Our best recruits will be smothered by other programs poaching us and you know what they are going to say to them. If this class falls apart like it did for Flood, we will be a permanent fixture holding up the rest of the league for many years to come.

It hopefully will end up that way in the long run. Didn't expect a bowl game, but certainly expected a FIRST DOWN. This is not acceptable at this level even for us.

WRONG. I looked at SMU, they are 3-4 league play, 5-6 overall, and there are four teams worse than them in the AAC. They have recruited 17 3 star players from 2013-2016, , no 4 or 5's, and I don't know how many are still on the team. We have about 40 three stars or higher on our team right now. I don't agree with your incessant bashing of the players but I respect your right to an opinion, but false statements used to bash the players needs to be called out.

A few weeks ago someone made a comment we have Buffalo level talent. I pointed out they had 8 three star recruits in the last four years. Crickets.
