Shot clock violations

I'd have to imagine we are elite in this stat maybe even #1

I don't know if that stat is kept, but damn is it exciting when our defense causes these violations. It's like a badge of honor for our defense.

And the dang refs blew one last night - was clearly a violation.

The refs did blow one. I go by the light on the backboard rather than the horn at home games due to the crowd noise.

I would like to give an assist to our fan base on some of these shot clock violations.

The Building was RACtivating when the shot clock was running down!

Refs never reviewed it. Watched the replay when I got home. They made the right call.

I was at the game....and don't recall hearing the shot clock violation sound.
The Refs refused to look at the replay for a shot clock violation.

Assuming I'm reading the rules correctly, it was not criminal - because it's not reviewable. I think this falls into the same category as the OSU endgame rules violations which weren't reviewable, because a whistle never blew. As far as I can tell, the general principle is that if play hasn't been stopped by a whistle or made basket or out of bounds, the play can't be reviewed, as they don't want to stop the rhythm of the game. It's just a mistake and I'd personally rather not see a host of situations added to review (except the endgame situation we saw at OSU), as the games already get bogged down in reviews in the last 2 minutes.

Section 2. Instant Replay—Voluntary Use (Except Where Noted) Art 1. Officials may use such available equipment only in the following situations (page 106 in the rule book in the link below):

b. Scoring. 4. Determine if the ball was released on a try for goal before the sounding of the shot clock horn when the try is successful. The officials must recognize the potential mistake and signal to the scorer that an instant replay review is required prior to the ball next becoming live. When the try is unsuccessful, a review is not permissible.

I asked one of the coaches why it wasn’t reviewed.

He said it’s not reviewable because play continued.

So yes if the shot went in or I guess if the ball went out of bounds of Rutgers they could have reviewed it

If the rule makers had thought of the situation we experienced it an interview whistle I suspect it might well have been added as an exception,
