I spent some time reading and viewing as much as I could on Ash and what really stood out is how effective he is as a communicator (teaching football), how much he has studied the game, and how much he has prepared to become a head coach. There is no doubt in my mind this man has a plan. He is elite. He probably already has a short list of people like him in mind, smart hard working innovative teachers. I can't wait to see who he brings in. I think the current staff have an interview of a life time to become a part of an extremely high performing football teaching school. I honestly don't think recruiting connections or friendships will drive his decision process. This is a HUGE contrast to Flood who seemed to focus his attention on creating a comfortable environment, a family sort of environment. This in and of itself has an appeal but lacks the one thing the elite players look for more than anything, an opportunity to become the best at their craft. These guys have worked thousands of hours, traveled how ever far was necessary, to make themselves elite, to fight for that next opportunity. Fight or Flight versus Family says much about the new Rutgers. I Love It.
