What connection? Kidding. Fun to see.
Great game, but the Bills - Rams game earlier was one for the ages. Stafford was amazing, but Allen was otherworldly - first time in NFL history anyone has had 3 TD passes and 3 TD runs in one game. Still can't believe the Bills wasted that TO with a minute left, instead of just quickly running another play - could've kicked off with all 3 TOs and ~45 seconds left instead of having to go for the onside kick.
Why would the announcers talk about them?
First they aren't playing each other, their teams are. Second, Im going guess that the were many players on both sides, in many games, that went to the same college and is never mentioned by announcers. Unless they actually are one on one against each other. There are many games where each side having players from the same college. Especially Bama, Georgia etc.
Last. Neither were lighting it up as that was a defensive game from start to finish! Good games from both but nobody should expect that to be announced.
Great to see so many Rutgers guys in the NFL and CFL with the numbers only increasing in the future.
In the future some NFL players will have played for 2 or 3 etc. different colleges due to annual free agency and chasing$$.
Will The college(s) they attended even be relevant?? How many schools can claim to have produced the same player??
