So, 30% of our games are against top 10 teams?

And the joke is Phil Steele only considered our schedule 30th toughest in the country.

The problem with rating schedules is obvious: Some games are brutally tough while others are against patsies, but they "even out." Say two teams have the exact same schedule strength, but one plays 12 6-6 teams while the other plays six 3-9 teams and six 9-3 teams. The former could, in theory, lose every game while the latter should by all rights be a sure thing to go 6-6, yet they played the same "strength of schedule."

You can't only include the tough teams when ranking schedules. They aren't ever opinions, but based on numbers. There is no joke in No. 30, just a realization that there are other teams besides the good ones on the slate. (And by the way, No. 30 is still in the top quarter of FBS, right? We don't get bonus points for a tough schedule because we're not very good.)
