Depends on the licensing contract. Generally these deals involve some mix of lump sum payment, equity in the company (mostly for start ups or spin offs), and royalties. It's not necessarily all three in every deal. Hard to really say in general because like most business deals it comes down to leverage and negotiation when the contract is put together.Originally posted by pmvon:
