I put together a whole write up last week on Flood's suspension, but posted it elsewhere. However, one part I'd like to discuss here is his "punishment", which I think is very foolish. Here's what I wrote:

Punishment
The punishment handed out is phenomenally stupid. Why? Because it drags it out for 4 weeks. That's right, look at the schedule. @TTFP on 9/19, Kansas on 9/26, Bye Week on 10/3 and, finally, MSU on 10/10. STUPID! That means this is gonna be news for almost the next month. Whether the punishment is too harsh or not harsh enough, it just leaves this dangling in the wind for way too long. First of all, they should have waited to announce, and impose, the punishment on a Monday morning. Then the punishment should have been changed to a separation from the team for the length of a week. No contact whatsoever. So, BOOM, the week happens, then this fades into the background and in another week or so it's forgotten by the public as other stories capture their attention. But, no, now it is gonna drag out all the way to the Indiana game on 10/17, as that will be the first official game when he's back. So this whole situation is gonna have almost a 2 month footprint. Unbelievable.
