So I just got back from walking the streets of my complex - while on my street I pass my neighbor walking his dog and say hello. We exchange a few words, then he says: "That's quite a basketball team you have there." (He lives 3 doors down from me and knows I'm a huge RU fan.) So we talk a bit about the team, our past endeavors, past coaches and what the future holds. But it's been years since I've had anyone make a comment out of the blue about any of the Rutgers athletic teams. Great to have it happening again.

maybe he was just hitting on you, making a old fashioned pass. It is 2017 ....

Just met with a once long time season ticket holder who gave up their tickets after Waters left. Him and his wife will be coming with to a game in January....Interested in RU BBall again. ALL ABOARD THE PIKE EXPRESS

RU just needs to be decent for casual fans to take interest. There is a huge quiet fan base that wants a fun program to cheer for... every time the team is having a pretty good year and is entertaining, the RAC gets filled. It's going to happen again; only this time it might not be a one off event!

I have been a casual BB fan for several years but never saw Rutgers play live (at RAC or anywhere else). Saturday at 10 AM I went on Stubhub, got a ticket and hopped in the car to the RAC. It was kind of an obsession that drew me there, like Richard Dreyfus had in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".

So, how did you like your first RAC experience?

Awesome. I'll be back.

I have heard stories of the RAC's loudest moments, how load was the Seton Hall game compared to them? I have no reference point to compare it since it was my first experience.

It was "one of" the loudest, but we had a few others that were louder, imo. You definitely got a taste though.

That's great to hear! I would probably give it an 8 or 8.5 (out of 10) in terms of volume compared to the peak that I've witnessed since I've been going to games in 1997. If Mike Williams knocked down that 3 at the end, you might have gotten it up to a 9. In terms of intensity, I'd have to say it was easily a 9. You certainly picked a great game to go to for the first time!

As an old timer (RC'69) who remembers as a student going to the Barn to watch Bobby Lloyd and Jim Valvano, this is all very exciting. Reminds me of when Bill Foster came to the Banks. Wish it wasn't such a pain to get to the RAC from Brooklyn. At least I have BTN and BTN Go!
