at 2pm Rutgers is 8 spots behind the Citrus Fruits. Hard to take, people. Hard to take.

"But Ash hasn't had time to build relationships".... Neither has their coach, and their coach was recruiting lesser quality guys whereas ash could have had a slight relationship with our targets at OSU... The sky isn't falling but this was not a good start to the #AshEra

This is our worst recruiting class in like a decade I think. Not unexpected. Also 8 spots in the 60s/70s is totally meaningless.

This would be a problem if this was next year. Lets give this staff some time to get this settled and turn this program around.

There ranking average is 2.75
Ours is 2.71.
Relax.
Let's revisit this next year.

More specifically, both RU and SU have an average Rivals Rating of 5.505

Ash indicated that he would not fill a class just for bodies. Also what's missing from all of these ratings are the transfers we got. I'm not sure whether SU took any this year but it looks like Ash filled some spots with transfers when he couldn't get the HS recruits that he wanted.

Neither fan base should be ragging on the other...just saying.

Both programs have a long to go to become competitive in their respective conferences.

If what is being reported is true and Ash had an agreement with Meyer to not attempt to poach OSU recruits, then I think that needs to be considered when evaluating the staff's efforts these last few weeks.

Regardless, we should withhold judgment until we see who Ash and Co. can reel in over a full recruiting cycle.

Kids have had positive things to say about current staff - namely, Parker, Henry and Burnham. I think Blaze will turn out to be a solid recruiter for us. I also like the new RB coach. He reeled in some solid 3 and 4 start RB talent to Purdue, which is not an easy sell. He also has some solid ties to state of Georgia.

Maryland - 2.86
Sadexcuse - 2.75
Rutgers - 2.71

...so, despite the disparity in class rankings, the average star ratings aren't far off at all. We're talking a MINIMAL difference here fellas.

FYI:

Maryland - 2.86
Sadexcuse - 2.75
Rutgers - 2.71

...hardly a difference folks.

NGRANT,
This is a perfect opportunity for you to switch your allegiance to the Syracuse Fruit and join their board.
Don't bother checking in here anymore because RU is not worthy of your time.

In 2002, RU had a rivals avg star rating of 2.58. Four years later they had their best season ever, ending the season ranked #17 and reaching the top ten at one point.

In 2012, RU had a rivals avg star rating of 3.26. Four years later they went 1-7 in conference and their coach was fired.

What happens in one year does not mean shit in the long run. Stop being stupid.

Why are we talking about them? I don't give a f***, about them, I'm more concerned with us. We don't even play them. Let's worry about Rutgers and what they put on the field as a product!

Also is not our ranking negatively impacted by the fact we took on 17 recruits. A full class would have put us higher.

We don't play Syracuse for the foreseeable future, they aren't in our conference and they are closer to Toronto than they are to New Brunswick. Why the f do you guys continue to bring them up?

The only better example of a loser mentality than getting carried away in the rating of a class that was put together in four weeks is to be obsessed with the status a school from 600 miles away in another conference.

It is a 3.5 hour drive to Cuse from NB, and 4-5hours to Toronto from Cuse. I have driven to Toronto from NJ many times and had to drive through Cuse each time. Hit up their BBQ joint when i could.

Wonder how many Bowling Green recruits Babirs brought with him. Bunch of Midwesterners on the list.

One thing I noticed was zero NJ recruits in their commitment list. That's certainly a change from 10-12 years ago.

Agreed. But on their site he is says NJ will be a priority. We need to fence them out.

Forget Syracuse, focus on UAB and UCF, 24/7 has their classes ranked ahead of us, one just restarted their program and the other is coming off an 0-12 season. Of course, who really takes these rankings seriously.

If you go by star ratings, this class is not that bad; it's just small. And in terms of quality, it's probably comparable to Syracuse's, if maybe just a bit behind. So yes, we don't play Syracuse anymore, but they recruit our front yard. If you don't keep an eye on them, you'd be an idiot.
