Not shocked…every team is doing it lolTampering is standard practice.
It doesn't matter because (1) no real rules and (2) no repercussions.
The concept of tampering is standard practice. It’s probably not tampering by the definition of the rule because there’s always a go-between. In a world where people are more connected than ever it’s just an inevitability that you can’t adjudicate tampering outside of a coaching staff member of another team caught red handed anyway.
Lotta twitter talk that it's GeorgetownSounds like it's Georgetown...Ed Cooley
There are rules? (seriously asking)There is nobody enforcing the rules
13.1.1.3 Four-Year College Prospective Student-Athletes. An athletics staff member or other representative of the institution's athletics interests shall not make contact with the student-athlete of another NCAA or NAIA four-year collegiate institution, directly or indirectly, without first obtaining the written permission of the first institution's athletics director (or an athletics administrator designated by the athletics director) to do so, regardless of who makes the initial contactThere are rules? (seriously asking)
Thanks. I guess with no enforcement or penalty its meaningless. And we all know that an amoeba has a stronger backbone than the NCAA.13.1.1.3 Four-Year College Prospective Student-Athletes. Well, at least he can work toward a meaningful grad degree there. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. AFAIK, all he has to do for a grad year transfer is to graduate and then attend somewhere in a program that his previous institution did not offer. So he might "officially" be working toward some strange degree that a massive institution like Rutgers does not offer. Doctor of Theology maybe?Lotta twitter talk that it's Georgetown
Tampering has always been there and always will be there.
Remember when we all knew Douby was going to transfer to Louisville ?
And there are some stand up coaches like Pike and others like Cooley and Pitino who ignore rules and will try to win at any cost. You think Cooley is going give Cam minutes when he goes into a slump again for 3-4 weeks You think he’ll care about his mental well being. Cooley and Ricky will punt players just as quickly as they cheat if they don’t perform. There is nobody enforcing the rules
Geez.. had not considered Pitino. If Cam intends on a coaching career down the road.. getting a big-name coach on the resume could help. And there are some stand up coaches like Pike and others like Cooley and Pitino who ignore rules and will try to win at any cost. I understand the lure of money. There are other things to consider.
Why is there zero chance we fill his spot? The portal is full of players we can recruit and there are tons of grad transfers that can transfer wherever and whenever they want.Think abt when another job calls you for a position when u still have your old job haha. It happens everywhere. Sucks that it’s this late in the process and there’s zero chance we fill cam’s spot. But hopefully Paul n cliff come back and we’ll see what’s what next season.
Is Rutgers doing it? Doubtful. Not shocked…every team is doing it lol
I don’t see why we shouldn’t if there’s no repercussions lol🤷♂️Is Rutgers doing it? Doubtful.

I don't know if Cam graduated or not, but either way he's done with his 'four years' You'll notice this all happened after graduation weekend.13.1.1.3 Four-Year College Prospective Student-Athletes. Since this seems like a NIL move and NIL is completely “separate” from the school or team…it is difficult to penalize the team and they have a degree of separation. Even though we all know that is BSThanks. I guess with no enforcement or penalty its meaningless. And we all know that an amoeba has a stronger backbone than the NCAA.
Cam graduated last weekI don't know if Cam graduated or not, but either way he's done with his 'four years' You'll notice this all happened after graduation weekend.
Also 'representative of the institution's athletics interests' is tough to define in the NIL world. 'Hey....I'll pay you to make appearances at my events if you just happen to move to Indiana, wink wink...You can still play for Rutgers if you want....but it would be a long commute. I hear there's a university that I have no affilitation to much closer...just saying'
….but maybe it would embarrass the NCAA enough that there would be some repercussions.
I don’t disagree, but what do we have to lose? The only thing I could think of is there could be some pushback from the BIG because there are other teams in the league behaving this way.Respectfully this is very naive. The NCAA is a useless shameless spineless organization. They have proven this unequivocally for decades. “Embarrassment” isn’t in their DNA
It doesn't matter because (1) no real rules and (2) no repercussions.
Yep kind of like our society today , a ton of rules and laws that are not enforced and there are no repercussions for breaking those laws. There is nobody enforcing the rules
That NCAA Golden Goose for schools and now players will ultimately end up on life support unless this gets organized.Since this seems like a NIL move and NIL is completely “separate” from the school or team…it is difficult to penalize the team and they have a degree of separation. It is hard to believe, but the NCAA over the last 20 years has become even more legally toothless! It doesn't matter because (1) no real rules and (2) no repercussions.
Kind of like our country lately . Let’s enforce rules !It is hard to believe, but the NCAA over the last 20 years has become even more legally toothless!
