There are going to be a TON of high school and youth players and their families,plus the game is not going up against Rutgers Day. Unless the weather ends up bad, we HAVE to get 20,000.

The most we ever had was 20,000 I believe or something like that.

Yo, stop bogarting that joint and pass it on...35K off of a 4-8 season when 20K or so is our record spring game attendance is just a wee bit optimistic...

attendance has always been solid for RU spring games compared to most schools. It will never be like the powerhouses but so what and we will never get 30K but we draw very solid numbers

The Spring Game needs to be something the students start coming to. It can be another reason for them to tailgate. If that happens you can expect a much bugger number because students have never really showed up to it in the past. If it becomes a thing for the students, I can see attendance really increasing
Easter first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox, tied to the solar calendar....quite pagan yes? Passover tied to the Jewish calendar which has 13 months every so often, I am guessing this is one of those years. Passover falls in the month after the extra month...Again guessing it is one of those years? Many times when there is the extra month the alignment keeps east somewhat alinged. This is one of the years with an early full moon and an extra month,

Good weather and we have a chance at a record. I already have 10 people going. We will probably end up with 15 college football hungry fans. Spread the word. Text out the announcement page. Every time I do someone shows interest.
You want more students? Schedule on 420 and hand out goodie bags.

Of which 3,000 are students, others have hit it on the head...until the students see this as a major event to attend and support for the spring semester and show up in mass, beating the 30k mark even with a new coach and new excitement might be tough. There is no reason for a school as large as Rutgers not to get 8-10,000 students to attend this (barring bad weather). There has to be a way for the school to entice students to show up, give aways throughout the game? Once you get the ball rolling this could turn into a major event for students in years to come....and before you know it you have 15,000 students alone squeezing into the stadium.

the game was mainly held on Rutgers Day and student attendence seemed pretty decent...thats when it was held in the day. Forget about them coming out at night...will be much less students, especially since the timing seems to be around big party drinking weekends.
when it comes down to it, there is very little going on at the spring game, its pretty boring, hard to expect the student to be interested in something like this

Students don't need other events for them to show up. A football game with the opportunity to tailgate all day is more than enough reason. Just need it to be marketed as the thing to do that day.
Usually,there is live music before the game,in addition to autographs with NFL players. Everyone gets a FREE Rutgers poster (some years FREE T-shirts too). After the game,FREE autographs with the Rutgers players and coaches. We should get a MUCH larger turnout of kids this year---no conflicts for families with little league baseball,rugby,lacrosse,soccer,karate,Boys and Girls Scouts, and now in some parts of the state,Spring youth football.
Eastern Orthodox (Russian/Romanian/Greek/Armenian/Ukranian/etc, etc) not until 1st Sunday of May due to the same reasons (Easter can't fall until after the new moon of the quarter, IIRC, and Passover). A full 5 weeks between the "2" Easters this year. Crazy.
Yes, this year is a leap-year on the Jewish calendar, meaning an extra month, and so Passover falls about a month after Easter. A lunar calendar like the Jewish calendar needs frequent leap-months to keep it in tune with the seasons of the year. The Islamic calendar is lunar, but does not have leap months, and so the months travel around the year. This is why the fast of Ramadan falls sometimes in winter and sometimes in summer.
It would be great if the Spring game got more than 20,000, Passover or not, and my guess is that Hobbs and Ash are causing enough excitement that attendance will be pretty good.
p.s. although Easter and Passover are connected, it is, I understand, impossible for the two of them to fall on the same day.
The Eastern Orthodox church and the Catholic church are having discussions about making their Easters the same -- maybe the second or third Sunday in April.
Passover and Easter can be on the same day. Last year Good Friday and the first night seder were on the same day. Also as Passover is 8 days long, last year's Easter Sunday was during Passover.
I should have been clearer. Easter Sunday and the first day of Passover cannot fall on the same day. But you're certainly right that Easter can fall during Passover.
I won't be there do to a Wedding rehearsal. So that's minus 1. Therefore, I will go with 19,872.
Yet so many said that a Friday night game was a brilliant idea. The powers that be thought that people never have anything to do on a Friday night, were willing to leave work early and the large majority live within 10 miles of the stadium
