Starters Opening Season?

OP is probably right or very close but they’ll be rotating early and often so I don’t think starters will necessarily coincide with most minutes.

(Young, Baker, Yeboah, Harper, Johnson)?

I agree and think the initial 2 games and the minute breakdown will look like what we saw in Spain. From there, we'll probably see some matchups and goal to bring Mulcahy, Doucoure and Kiss into a rotation where the staff can bring them minutes and find out as quickly as possible what they can do well, without solely relying on the day to day grind of practices.

With Shaq Carter appearing to have taken the offseasons to improve, I feel like he is a lock for minutes every night and see him as the 1 of the Top 9.

The question is how far or reliable in spots can we find successful or minutes for Doucoure and Kiss. I definitely see their minutes as more of a wait and see where matchups lie.

I think fans are likely going to go overboard and panic, if and when Peter Kiss likely has a better chance initially in the 1st half of the season to see more success than Mulcahy. It's not that Mulcahy isn't going to be very important, but we should look at how uneven or at times very shaky our frosh looked in the 1st 2 months last year.

Kiss is a 4th year junior with his 3rd year in the program and I think has a very specific role of spot up shooter.....and with better passing and driving threats around him, he's not going to be asked to create his own offense off the dribble.

Young
Baker
Yeboah
Harper
Johnson
Mathis
McConnell
Mulcahy
Carter
Doucoure
Kiss
TBD- Lobach PWO
TBD- Nathan PWO
TBD- Downes PWO

I have two main concerns since the board consensus is Ron at the four:

1. Can Ron play the four defensively in conference against the big boys?
2. If yes, how much does that affect him on the offensive end?

I think carter plays very significant minutes every night in conference play.

Baker
Mathis
Harper
Yeboah
Johnson

1st media TO Harper or Yeboah rests so they can relieve each other.

Baker Young Mathis Harper Johnson very possible too.

I am guessing Mathis will be given every opportunity to start. Pike needs his defense and he needs him on the right track. Part of this is dealing with personalities.

Line up could change multiple times until we find the best combos. Doesn’t really matter who starts. Production will determine minutes.

The clear top 8 to start the season would be Geo Young Harper Myles Yeboah Caleb Carter Mathis... Then Kiss Mulcahy and Doucoure with less minutes. Pike could go a few ways with the starting lineup and it may change due to matchups. There is so much versatility and possible lineup combinations with this roster. Really hope Pike manages it well and finds the right group at the right time. It may be the key to pulling out many close games this season

Couldn’t agree more on each point.
In addition, I think he may have to manage thinks a few different times during the season as the younger guys step up a bit and the combination of players become a lot clearer.
Exciting for sure.
