I realize that many people are Strong fans of various Pro Teams.For starters I am a Rutgers Fan ONLY. In the Pros I root for any team that has Rutgers kids playing for them.If the team wins fine. If it loses I really don't care.I follow more closely during the Playoffs because I want my guys to get RINGS.
Steve Belichick can thank Greg Schiano for placing him on the RU FB team during his last year at RU after playing lacrosse. That set him up for an NFL staff position after college. By coincidence Bill Belichick then recommended Greg to the Glaser family to be the next HC of the Tampa Bay Bucs. Quid pro quo, baby !
Good for him. His pops laid the ground work for him. Jumps from lax team to football senior year with the blessing of GS. Graduates, get a Patriots job as a quality control type for a few years and now is a Safety coach for a NFL team. Before you know he'll be DB coach, then DC and Head coach in the matter of 5 yrs. He should have gotten PT at RU ? He had no CFB experience and was given a walkon spot by Schiano as a 3rd string backup long snapper when his lacrosse eligibility ran out. It was clearly done as a favor to Bill Belichick by Schiano. He is lucky if he dressed for home games that year at RU. Yet you wanted to see the kid get PT ?
I saw that kid point out a procedure call against Pitt that the entire staff missed. That alone made him valuable enough.
And he is Belichik's son. Of course you put him on the team. Duh.

Might have started at the 50, but spent 4 years as a coaching assistant before moving up to coach New England's Safeties.
As for unabashed nepotism, check some college programs and other pro ones in football and basketball, you'll see the HC putting family members on their staff.
Looks like Steve started on the road to coaching at an early age .

Like it or not , it's part of the coaching world and many times the son or daughter of a coach gets their first coaching job on their father/mother's staff or a friend of their father/mother hires them because of that friendship.
They way it's supposed to be. If the D backfield fails he will get canned. I am guessing he is a pretty damn good coach.
The way it's supposed to be according to whom? Stinks! Saw him play lacrosse at RU, when he played. Slow. How the hell can you be a D1 lacrosse player & be slow? Brought on to the football team as a back up long snapper in his senior year. What a joke. The fix has been in for this kid the whole way.
