- FDU is a scrappy team and I would not be shocked to see them win or at the very least come very close to winning the NEC. I was very impressed with number 3, Jahlil Jenkins. Despite only being 5-foot-10, he’s shown some impressive dribble moves and an ability to hit various shots.
- FOUL TROUBLE…….All throughout the first half we saw a lot of fouls from this Scarlet Knights defense whether it was going after loose ball or off a missed rebound. If this team wants to win games in the future, especially conference ones it’s going to have to limit these fouls.
- The shooting was poor early on, with a little less than 10 mins left in the first half, Rutgers was shooting just a little under 30%. However the team turned it around rather quickly with a mix of buckets from Omoruyi, Kiss, Baker, Thiam and more to finish the half shooting 47%.
- Forward Eugene Omoruyi has drastically improved his offensive game. He’s shooting 4-of-8 this half, along with 1-of-2 from beyond the arc. Omoruyi also made a really nice post move, spinning off his defender for an easy lay in.
- As far as the bigs go, Rutgers center Myles Johnson played very well and has shown he definitely needs to play some more throughout the second half. He’s been a threat in post so far scoring four points, and he’s also shown some solid defensive abilities too.
