Targum: Experience abundant as Rutgers offensive line adapts to new offense

This statement by Cole speaks volumes:
“It’s a lot easier than the offense we were in before,” Cole said. “I was really confused some days when we’d run certain offenses, and then we’d just switch it up and do it all over, completely new. This offense is just go out, smash mouth football.”

Interesting read. Thanks for posting. Nice to see the Targum doing some in-depth articles about the changes in the program.

I guess Spread offense is easier to learn than Pro Offense for offensive linemen, which many already knew.

We did not try the spread offense when Schiano was here or our OL coach, Flood, didn't know how to teach the spread offense.

Question for those in the know: is the spread O-line easier to defend and penetrate than the pro-set? Does the QB have less time to make a decision and execute a play? It always appears that way to me, but I'm never sure if that's due to the tempo of the game or truly that the O-line is more porous.

Kind of brings up the question about either defense or offense, who are you confusing more, the opponent or yourself?

I hate to say it but it becomes clearer and clearer every day that our coaching mentality was not suited to college level play across the board. It might have worked after several years with juniors and seniors in the system 3 years but with injuries and staff changes was never gonna work for us
