One interesting tidbit in that article is that Chris Laviano had the black stripe on his helmet removed signifying that the coaching staff believes he is game ready; he has been "knighted." Does Laviano have the inside track to being the starting QB again?

You seem to have picked up on it, but in this thread, there is a tweet from Dunleavy saying it was Cioffi.

I think it was a misprint, Cioffi was knighted.
