We've all been through the RU wars. We've all seen some pretty low lows, and infrequent but exhilarating highs. We've seen some horribly played games where we got stomped. We've commiserated on what its like to be long suffering RU fans. We've all criticized game plans, play calling, who should be playing QB etc

But tonight's game was just plain flat out WEIRD.

It was like we were a 1AA team going into play the national champs and being content not to get our socks blown off. We didn't even try. There was literally no urgency. There was no desire. There was simply no way we could ever win that game. We just didn't even WANT to win.

I really can't explain it. The coaches know that Flood is on the hot seat and needs some positive momentum. Flood knows it too. But instead we simply showed up with no intention of ever winning that game.

The unbelievably close to the vest play calling. The decision to throw the ball no more than 10 yards down the field ALL GAME. The inexplicable refusal to at least TRY playing Rettig. The mind boggling decision to kick a FG in the 4th quarter when down by 3 TDs.

It's really ponderous. I can't even begin to make any excuses for the coaching staff.

We just decided to lose but not lose too badly, to a mediocre team is (or at least want to be) our #1 hated team.

Absolutely bizarre.
