"So after my (play-by-play) call got on the air, the next day I had a note from (WFAN programming director) Mark Chernoff asking me to submit demo tapes for updates, and the rest is history,'' she told NJ Advance Media. "I started in June, 1998, after I graduated from Rutgers, doing updates on their show and it was all because of Mike.''

As a member of the WRSU sports department from 75-79, I am always proud of the station's alumni making it big in sports media. Erica is a shining example of the great experience WRSU provides.

Erica is very good at what she does. And although it wouldn't matter in a perfect world, she also is very attractive, which helps

To be clear, it was Rich DeMarco, not Herskowitz who was the WRSU play-by-play announcer for the Billet shot.

Rich is, of course, now the Army football and basketball play by play guy and an assistant AD there.

Pretty sure she was not the first female to do play by play for men's basketball for WRSU. I was on the staff in 78-79 and 79-80 and shared PBP duties at the RAC with Lynne F. for a men's game the latter year. Don't recall the game, though.

Herskowitz was the major talent in that WRSU generation as evidenced by her immediate rise to Wfan. Demarco was great and I really enjoyed his sports call in show on Wctc.
I am sure he does a great job at army now.
When I was in that business , many Friday nights were spent listening to Demarco and pavlichko - another wrsu grad - on the call of the gmc football or basketball game of the week. Good stuff

I did a few womens' BB games with Lynne my senior year 78-79. I am glad she was given an opportunity to do a men's game.

Today is the last day for that fat blowhard! [banana]
