I'm sure there's going to be a lot of people here that don't agree with me on this one, but I think the loss of Gary Nova is going to help our offense.

First off, let me say that Nova played some really good games for us, especially his final year- there were a few games that we most likely would not have won if not for his arm. We also know Nova had a few stinkers in his career, and we lost a few games we would not have lost if not for some of his play. Obviously the team wins and loses as a team, but I think it's fair to say that Nova was inconsistent.

Consistency. IMO that is the most important quality a QB, Point Guard, Goalie, etc. can have. Coaches need to know what they have, and can develop a game plan around it. If we were scheduled to play a team with a really bad secondary, but the inconsistent QB is just "off" that day, what do you do? Do you scrap the game plan all together? Well now your doing something you didn't plan on and completely put yourself at a disadvantage.

What about a Consistent QB that goes for 200 yards a game or so with low turnover numbers as well as low TD numbers. Our running game is excellent this year, so I'm sure they'll be able to pick up some of the slack in terms of yardage.

The offense now has an identity, pound the rock, take care of the football, and throw when the defense least expects it (play action). I know that's what Flood has preached for a while, but the turnovers coming from the QB position made it a little tough to actually execute that.

I don't think we're going to be slinging the ball around as much as we did last year, IMO this offense is going to be similar to the 2006 offense. It's going to be predictable, but we're going to run it down your throat regardless, and you're not going to be able to stop it.

Next thing you know, there's Carroo wide open.

Consistency. That's the word for this year's offense IMO.
