The NFL isn't college football's friend - it's the greatest threat to the CFP schedule

The NFL has a salary cap and a draft, which insures some level of competitive balance and keeps more fanbases optimistic and interested, in contrast to college football, which doesn't care about competitive balance at all. That makes for a potentially larger audience.

NFL is like the parent that knocks other parents down as they run to grab the last Barbie at Christmas.
They want every nickel on the plate

Iv’e always felt kind of felt colleges fans are college fans and NFL are NFL. What I mean by that is if the JETS are on when a college game is on I’m watching college. And JETS die hards are watching NFL. Put Texas vs Texas A$M up against and NFL game and I bet the ratings stay pretty much same as when not up against an NFL game

Easy solution to this is to lobby Trump and the DOJ to get the NFL's antitrust exemption changed to block Sat games through the 3rd Monday of January (or Sat), rather than just the 2nd week of December. Have them add Thurs too so CFB gets that back.

I mean that describes college athletics conferences and teams as well.
At least the NFL is one cohesive unit (the NFC East isnt trying to poach teams from and bankrupt the AFC West).

College athletics is just mad that the NFL is better at it.

True, but the NFL is more cohesive, so it works. They aren't destroying their own product to curry favor with a few institutions.

I think NFL craps on its product all the time.
Goodell has been getting booed for years.
Bad officiating is a problem mad worse by the gambling angle that shouldn't exist with NFL support.
Chubby, lady, basketball coaches become RB coaches in Chicago
We've been learning the past few years that you can only crap on people you take for granted for so long.
College ball is in a mutational state between being academic and pro.
Eventually it will stop pretending and be full pro.
Then the NFL will be in trouble because a lot of big programs and schools are more dedicated to their college teams.
Imagine SEC players staying where they are and NFL stadiums looking empty with big contracts over their heads.
I think a lot of NFL fans would drop it in a minute with a real alternative
Actually all the big sports leagues are run by nickel-grubbing, blowhard cucks that people are sick of.

Brady complaining about dumbed down QB play.
I noticed it awhile ago and I believe demographics and dollars are reasons.
The running QBs dont think like pocket passers - they also dont last as long - no 15 yr running QB contracts at hand

College Football is going to replace the NFL and pay QBs $50m/year and have 10 year players?

College fans are complaining over players getting $1m/year.
College fans are complaining over players getting 5 years of eligibility.

Your future sounds like it craps on the College sports fans a lot more.
So much for the "essence" of college athletics and amateurish.

CFB as it was known is dead at upper level - chaos is rising.
Academy ball is last vestige
Dinosaurs disappeared getting too big and NFL is on that path.
Nevermind QBs - there are DEs (Myles Garrett) making 40 mil a year and that's crazy.
On the other hand there are more common players getting more NIL than they would get as NFL rookies.
Salaries are off the hook and people have to pay more for TV and now also need Peacock and Amazon Prime for games.
The college game's rise will draft off NFLs glut and finger-flipping of fans by NFL HQ.
Lots of high falutin legacy institutions are now in cycles of demise

Never understood why at the Draft the players are all buddy buddy with Goodell. The guy works for the owners & is looking to screw players at every chance and is well compensated to do so at $64 million a year? Sure shake his hand and be respectful but that guy is your enemy.

Roger doesn't shake hands anymore.
He pushes the faux-bro chest bumps and hugz like he's Roger from the hood.

The NFL under Roger is now all about big footing every other sports enterprise. Just go back and look at the changes the NFL has made to their schedule. They took away Thursday Night from major CFB in season, changed the month of the NFL Draft, and have tried to make the Schedule release a big thing. All of this, everything has been done to dominate the landscape. They wanted major NFL Programming happening year around, and now it is here.

The NFL’s television schedule structure is in direct competition with the College Football Playoff. That means decreased ratings, and decreased growth for a sport trying to develop a new postseason format.

Yah know what I say to that? Awwwww, too bad.

NFL is ready to kill college football. With NIL and lack of regulation across CFB, there’s a very good chance college football implodes catastrophically in the next decade. NFL is setting itself up to be king with literally no competition if that happens.
