RU finishes tied for last in the Big 10 with Nebraska at 4-14 with a 12-19 overall mark going 8-5 non conference. RU is seeded 13th and falls to 12th seeded Illinois in the opening round of the Big 10 tourney to finish at 12-20 overall.
Swing games for Rutgers non conference: St Johns, Creighton, Clemson/UMass, Wake, and Monmouth. I think RU wins 2 of these but it would be a big plus if they could get a split in Vegas. St Johns is terrible but I think its very early to expect a young team like RU to win these games away from the RAC
Can RU avoid not slipping up to the likes of FDU and Howard and escape with no WTF games?
I think in league its going to be very tough. I guess any games is winnable after last years improbable win over Wisky but realistically Im still going to say there are not many games that RU has a shot at.
The likes of Minnesota, Illinois, Penn State, Northwestern, and Nebraska offer the best shots and RU needs to hold serve at home against these schools. The road will be tougher of course. RU play 9 games against these schools and I think getting 4 of them is doable.
The team of course will be better at the end of the year rather than the beginning. Just looking for that progress this year as opposed to last and looking to see the team cut back on blowouts and to look like they are actually building toward something
