THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-FORDHAM PREDICTION THREAD

They are #2 in the country in steal and TO %. 16.2% of defensive possessions they get a steal AND 29.5% of defensive possessions culminate in a turnover.

I know nothing except for what kenpom #s say. With those numbers I'd have to conclude they either press and/or play man to man. Add the fact they have a low tempo score confuses me a bit. They must be VERY deliberate on offense.

Assuming zone will not be their base defense (not sure how confident here)

All things considered, we should win this game. Fordham is 5-6 and on a 5 game losing streak. They have won all 5 of their games at home.
Even though we are on a neutral court, they have yet to win away from their own gym while we have been able to win away.
The only positives they can look at is we have both beaten a common opponent in FDU and they are 3-0 against NJ teams (Rider and St, Peters). Our current ranking is way over theirs.
But, you have to play the game and we seem to make most of our wins very close to the vest. If we can continue to do what we have been doing, I think we beat them by 10pts.

Fordham does not shoot well from the perimeter.

They shoot free throws very well.

They run the same roughly the same amount of kids Rutgers runs.

Rutgers 69, Fordham 61.

At the Court Club last night Pikiell said they have a very strange defense and he doesn't really know what's going on. I don't know what that means, but it's interesting.

to play a slow tempo and to induce mega turnovers...starting to make sense.

could be their opponents have been turnover prone too.

A hard fought game and we go 11-1 before facing the Pirates at the Prudential.

We have not faced much pressure in the back court but I think it will impact us. We might as well get used to it now because BIG 10 play will throw everything at you. I expect another win but don't know by how much. FDU was a very physical game. Hopefully Corey is back to 100% health wise.

For some reason I feel like it's going to be a great game for us. Guys will be excited to play in the garden.

Has anyone watch Fordham to give a solid analysis? I know I went over to one of their boards to see if they are talking about the game. Not much action on their board, but one poster believe Rutgers is a bigger conference version of them. I get the impression their opinion of Rutgers is based on the results of previous seasons. Another poster didn't talk smack, but doesn't think Rutgers is good or improved as much as the record indicate.

Since my first post on asking about Fordham I looked up some stats. It appears their weaknesses play right into Rutgers hands. They are not a great rebounding team. Prone to turnovers, shoot 31 from 3s and their FG percentage is 41%. If Rutgers take care of business on their end, then I can see Rutgers winning by double digits (12).
