Illini can be so hot and cold. At their best they will blow Rutgers out of the building especially with no Dylan, at their worst it can be an ugly game where RU can hang if they hit 50% and possibly sneak a win. Illini have their big guy back and think we are getting them as they are refocusing and headed on an uptick

Not sure why Northwestern played the defense they did against us, but Illinois will do what Michigan did. Basically, let anyone but Ace beat us. Now if JWill is feeling better and can play his A game, maybe that will be enough to get Ace some relief from double teams. But I'm not holding my breath.

I think the game will be played at a faster tempo than Michigan which isnt going to be good for Rutgers, RU controlled tempo vs Michigan and it became a grind game, I do not think its possible vs Illinois. I think Illini will not be that tight on Ace but I think RU will have a tough time defending Ilinois and if they are on it could get ugly

Agreed, Illinois is hot and cold, even with all of their stars in the lineup. But we always seem to let teams bomb away from 3-point range. And without Dylan, and the defensive playbook on Ace now out in the public, we won't be able to keep up.

Illinois made a lineup change vs Ohio St with Morez Johnson joining Ivisic in a "twin towers" lineup. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn also starts now. Johnson might be the one tasked with guarding Bailey. He struggled early on trying to contain Royal, who was too quick driving to the basket and also unexpectedly hit a few 3s. Rez did a better job in the second half but he's been foul prone so will be something to watch.

I don't see how Rutgers wins without Harper and Bailey scoring average at the RAC is 14 points per game.
