Illinois looked decent against Minnesota...expect them to finish in bottom 4 but they rallied in 2nd half after big defecit to give Minny a run on the road.
Indiana is going to be hot and cold..you hope we get them on a cold night but who knows
Nebby is way tougher than expected
bottom line is alot of the Big 10 struggled early trying to find their way, RU seemed to perhaps have peaked. I feel RU had a bit more ceiling than the other schools. With guys like Thiam, Eugene totally plateauing and the seniors not really getting any better I see the gap widening between RU and the rest of the Big 10 as we get into the meat of the schedule

Could still have a losing season even with a win over Wisconsin.The two losses at home to Stony Brook and Hartford were not only demoralizing but now require at least 6 league wins for a winning season which isn't likely to happen based on the way the team is now performing.
I don't usually predict anymore but we let one slip away big time last year at MSG to Wisconsin. Hopefully we remember that game.

This will be a very close contest, but RU pulls it out....and I'm basing this on some positive signs on offense from Doucoure and I think we can control the tempo defensively against their guards.
Happ is the guy who scares me. He scored almost all of their points last year. We just could not stop him at all. Someone needs to step up.
If we win,then the key will be how they handle success. We've seen time and again,in basketball, and back when football was good, we look past supposed inferior opponents.We win, and someone with NBA or NFL thoughts, will be held out of the first quarter, or something to that effect.Being a Rutgers fan, is like being a Mets fan. Extremely painful.

is Eugene playing in this game? because i didn't see him in the last one.
Didn't really mind the ass whoopin at Purdue but my confidence has been shaken by the two bad losses. I think the players understand the importance of winning this game so from that perspective, it will be interesting to see the effort on the glass. It seems whoever wins the battle of the boards will take this one.
I don't think tempo is even a thought in this one. We play real slow and they play even slower. kenpom is predicting 62 possessions. The 1st team to score 60 wins, but the winner may not even need that.
Question I have.....Do we forgo success on the defensive end rebounding by sending players out and looking to aggressively run. i am pikiell and my team hasn't cracked the point per possession mark since the December 12th game vs Fordham AND I am not an underdog. I think the goal is 10+ fast break points.
I am intrigued with the possibility of us going small and having Happ being forced to guard Eugene or Freeman. they aren't great from 3 and aren't a great offensive rebounding team, can we get away with playing some zone with a lineup of 0 3 5/15 11 33.....however the best way to stop Happ might be Sanders Williams and Geo being up in the face of Wisconsin guards
