Refs ran off the court like cowards vs. reviewing last play. They should have reviewed it.
They couldn't rule on the two out of bounds misses to overturn the shot.
You know what they could have done at that time to correct the missed calls and right the outcome? They could have ruled the clock expired even though maybe not. They could have informed both coaches as to why . Using what power they have to do the right thing. How many times have you seen the refs huddle over the camera for 5 minutes for a meaningless out of bounds play?
Cowards didn't even want to engage. That's a crime and they should be reprimanded as unprofessional conduct. Not like a hostile crowd at that moment.

Sorry. That was perhaps the worst screw job ever. It was in the refs control. not a clock malfunction. Not a chance to a miracle win down with 1.3 seconds. It was a robbery totally under the control of the refs.

I think they got a little nervous after they called that illegal pick on OSU in the second half and the crowd was making a lot of noise. Intimidated from calling that last play against the home team.

I just read an article on nj.com(sorry don't know how to link) that said the refs did review the play but most likely they only reviewed whether or not the ball left his hand before the clock expired; forget about the out of bounds which we all know is not reviewable but they apparently didn't review the fact that the clock didn't start when the OSU player grabbed the rebound which they should have and they didn't

There is too much shame to cover in one thread

We got completely fvcked and robbed. The amount of incompetence that occurred is so overwhelming it makes one go hmmmm.

Fvck these refs and the B1G for their chickenshit apology

Hose job, for sure. Also perplexed as to why Simpson logged so few minutes after his breakout game? His defense or matchups?

Hmmmn, I vaguely recall some even bigger screw job with more misses in a league tourney game many moons ago...

In other words, I think the RU - Johnnie's end game had even more misses by the refs at final count plus an egregious game clock failure. Not saying Thursday night didn't suck of course.

For those true masochists out there:

yeah. I was just asking which you you thought. Thanks for that. I forgot just HOW BAD that one was. I clearly remember the non-foul over the back but thought there was less time on the clock.
Would have been a great segment by ESPN to play these two together .
Reason I choose OSU is because we had that game WON and it was taken away. In the Johnnies game we were down and would still had to make a miracle shot with 1.7 secs to win. That's what they took away there.

True dat.

Thursday night was worse. That is because it is CERTAIN that if the mistake were not made, RU wins. Against Saint John’s, the mistakes cost RU opportunities to win, but it is not certain that RU wins without the errors.

There should be a remote ref offsite who has the authority to function as a COURT OF LAST APPEALS (PI) and can override missed calls, clock management / issues like this. Also, make it mandatory for refs to stay around when the game is settle be 3 points or less!

My friend who lives in Bentonville, ark texted me this morning saying he just saw the reply and how we got robbed. He's a Wisconsin grad and said the exact same thing happened to them earlier in the year at Kansas. Have to research that. Loves our team.

In case anyone else is curious, this is what transpired if it's the play I'm thinking of.. It was in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Kansas inbounded the ball trailing by 3 with 23 seconds to go in regulation after a made Wisconsin free throw . Kansas missed a 3 point shot with 18 seconds left, but the shooter managed to get to the ball and as he was flying out of bounds at the baseline, turned and passed it out to another KU player outside the 3 pt line... But it appeared that the Kansas player who made the pass had his foot down out of bounds just before the ball left his hand as he was making the pass. No call. The player who received the pass then hit a 3 with 11 seconds left to tie. Wisconsin was unable to score and the game went to OT, and Wisconsin ended up losing at the buzzer in OT.

Thanks for that. Not quite the same but damn close. Wow. Another example of why if they review damn near everything they should do so on the important stuff that matters.

My wife asked me why they couldn't overturn the obvious mistake, disallow the last basket, and rightfully award the win to the team that actually scored the most points.
I really didn't have an answer to her question.
