Can't wait for HCCA to get finalize his staff. As if he needed any more motivation on the recruiting trail.

The important take away in all of this is; Rutgers hired the guy who just did it. He is the guy with the "stain", and he is the guy that built the defense that won the national championship and he is the guy with the ring.

Perhaps with hard work, GS can get to that level, thus making himself more attractive as a head coach. Who knows. What we do know is Chris Ash is the one who has. He is current. He is now.

Good stuff, Cali. -But be warned about posting such positive thoughts on here. You run the risk of being referred to as a naive form of male genitalia. (As I found out a little while ago by posting something upbeat about our new coaching hire...lol.)

God forbid there should finally be some sense of excitement back in the football program.

Those people are probably posting from their Mom's basement through a dial-up connection. They are speedbumps in my life, if they are lucky.

OP referenced "stain" in a non-mocking context. Now on ignore.

I agree with the OP's basic sentiments however, playing Devil's advocate, we know Greg was a successful head coach at the collegiate level and Ash has never coached a game as a head coach at any level.

I think we made the right move but lets wait and see.

Its funny how we choose to remember things. Greg had a couple good seasons and did a miraculous job building the program on solid ground. But lets not forget how many games he didn't win and how many of those players he lost with are in the NFL today. He had some serious talent in his last few years and didnt maximize it.

The truth is no one knows how good or bad ash is going to be.

What we do know is the following, he is an elite DC, a great recruiter and has a great vision from our program. How that will translate to wins over 5 years? We will just have to wait and find out.

It's hard to not to get excited about what the future holds and it is also hard to see anything negative so far.

Upstream, Red Team!
