Bored at work, I perused the Big Ten standings in fall sports, and quite frankly, even expecting bad news, I didn't anticipate this gruesome level of failure:

Ready for this? Conference records only

Football -- 0-3
Men's Soccer -- 0-5-2
Field Hockey -- 1-4
Women's Soccer -- 4-1-3
Women's Volleyball -- 0-7
TOTAL: 5-20-5.

Take away women's soccer, and it's 1-19-2. OH MY GOD.

I am so pro-Big Ten even I get tired of repeating the benefits, starting with the full share of Big Ten money on the horizon. And I don't sweat down years, knowing we have better facilities coming. But damn -- this is an abomination. When people say we don't belong, they don't know the half of it. We don't. (And yes I know wrestling season is near.)

Get us now, people. That's all I have to say. Get us now, while you can.

There is no alternative solution. Stay in the AAC and beat Tulsa and Tulane in Field Hockey for $3 mil? Or get wooped by OSU & Michigan for a few years, and end up with $50 million. The losing will not last, we are in year 3 - our Junior & Senior players were all still recruited in the American Athletic/Big East. We will only improve across the board. Give it time, right now this transition period will not (and has not) brought much athletic success, but unlike schools ala UCONN, that will change and we actually have a future. It's not fun right NOW, but soon, it will all be soooooo worth it.

Never mind that what do you do for a living ? Bored at work so you go on line . So your company is paying you for this ? Hope you are not a state worker. Nice work ethic.

This is what we all wanted several years ago when we were in conference hell.....now we are finally got what we wanted and are in with the big boys - bottom line we need to step it up.

Here's how I like to view this situation: The Big Ten is getting what they pay for. They're paying RU only a fraction of what the fully vested schools receive. By the time we get a full share, we'll be more competitive.

And exactly what is surprising about these records? Joining the B1G was never about being competitive in the near future, it was always a long term project. The fact that two sports are doing well, that is a bonus. I realize that there were fans on this board who from the day we were invited were saying that we would be competitive in 5 or 10 years, but they were always full of crap and didn't fully understand the mountain we had to climb. My advice, learn to enjoy each Rutgers victory over a B1G opponent in each sport and realize that we will be competitive across the board at some point down the line, but just maybe not in your lifetime. It is a long term process which your children in their adult lives may be blessed to see come to fruition. It is not about you or me, it is about Rutgers athletics 20, 50, and even 100 years from now.

The good news is...NJ and PA are fertile recruiting grounds for lots of these fall sports programs and unlike football and basketball, for the most part the best players in these sports actually DO want to stay close to home so their families can more easily see them play. As Rutgers puts more money into their facilities, recruiting in all these sports will pick up and Rutgers will become a local destination for some of the better players and start to lay a foundation of success, it happened to PSU and it will happen to Rutgers.

Bro do last years. Also, don't include the volleyball team.

I love the fact that you left out any team that is doing well.

Field Hockey and Women's Soccer are doing well this season, so lets pretend that they do not exist!

Wrestling are getting elite recruits.. Oh no must not mention that!

Not sure why you put Nebraska in there. They are 1 of only 2 teams to have the 3 major(Football, Soccer, and Volleyball) Fall sports rated in the top 20 in all 3.
