is the honors college being limited to 500 students? If so, isn't that rather small for Rutgers' size?

Yes and Yes.

Their glossy brochure mentions the 500 number on page 2.

Yes and Yes.

Their glossy brochure mentions the 500 number on page 2.

The new building is 500 beds - that doesn't mean the honors college is only 500 students.

Many students don't dorm after their sophomore year so I'm sure the new honors college will house mostly freshman and sophomores. Most of the honors kids previously dormed in Brett Hall (but they also lived across all 4 campuses) which was comprised of mostly freshman and sophomores.

I believe that there is a possibility of expanding the honors college onto Bishop Field if the need (and the money) arises.

It is anticipated that the new residential honors college will house 500 first year students next September
